Ahhh, service auctions. Where would UU congregations be without them? We have about 100 members, maybe 60 or 70 of whom attend regularly, and somehow (with almost no participation from me) we manage to pull in ~ $5K+ at our yearly service auction.
And I love the nicknames you've given your bosses and coworkers. Very descriptive ;)
Service auctions and garage sales... plus the annual pledge drive, of course. Which I never give much to, because I don't have a lot of spare money, but I teach RE and I volunteer at things when I can, so hopefully it balances out. :-/
I used to identify all my coworkers by first and last initial, but that's not as memorable (and also potentially easier to link to their actual names, I guess), so I switched over to nicknames. They were a lot of fun to come up with!
