The teaser is up for Joss Whedon's new venture, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. It's about a villain (Neil Patrick Harris) who battles a nastyawful superhero (Nathan Fillion), and looks to be loads of fun. TVSquad is expecting it to be a breakout hit.

Ever noticed when a character from one television show crossed over into another? Or when characters on two different shows use the same brand of cigarettes or the same airline? Thanks to zonereyrie I've spent a couple of days happily poking through forums on backdoors, suggestions, and troubleshooting of Tivos, and come away knowing more, but convinced I've gotten a defective hard drive. I paid extra for Weaknees to upgrade the HD, so I'll be calling them on Monday.

...arrived yesterday,

was a breeze to set up,

froze on the welcome screen,

got rebooted and froze again a bit later.

Also, the DirecTV box doesn't want to take commands from it. Bad box, no cookie.

Tivo might be one of those things that are more ideal in theory than in practice, but I persist.

A new Dr. Who movie may be in the works. But-- it would spin off the lame US version from 1996 and bear no relationship to the truly excellent series being broadcast now.

YouTube use lessens the use of other entertainment media. That's pretty obvious. Will there come a day when 'television' is decoupled altogether from a schedule? I doubt it can happen entirely. There will always be those who have to see something the moment it is available, there will always be big events like the Superbowl that are more social ( Read more... )
