it's true, compatriots. in almost exactly 2 months, i will be departing the golden state for the prairie state (illinois). in light of the fact that it's 2/3 of the way across the continent and i'm not likely to be back much for the next several years, i'm trying to make sure i see people again before i go

i do. the folks at UIUC seemed to really be interested in me and my work, and the financial offer was way better than the others.

not looking forward to snow, hot and humid summers, and tornadoes, but i'll live.

anything new with you that hasn't made it into LJ?
