I'm little calmer now, thanks everybody who's been so sweet. This was friends-only but I'm opening it up, because if any of y'all have gone through something similar and feel like offering advice, I'd appreciate it. Just please be gentle.

Ohhhh. How awful! I think Shilagh's cat might have had this condition. I know she gave her cat the pills once a day and they seemed to keep him healthy for a number of years. It absolutely sucks that money is a factor with this. I know I worry about the kitty of mine who has a kidney condition and needs vet-prescribed cat food...it really doesn't matter that they aren't human, our pets are like our kids.
