[MOD PLOT] Info Post

Goooooooooooooooooood morning, Econtra! This is your 5AM mod!plot wake-up call~

It's finally here! The mod!plot begins now. Below is a brief breakdown of all the important information for players to use, as well as approximate dates for the 4 stages of the plot.

Information about each stage will be added as the plot progresses to the respective dates. It would be a good idea to bookmark or otherwise track this post, since it will be re-edited every few days to include new links and descriptions.

[STAGE ONE] Friday, Mar 21 - Sunday, Mar 23
• A sour smell fills the air
• Indigeo stops accepting requisitions
• Journals function intermittently


• Sour Smell
A pungent smell like sour milk, begins seeping into the compound. Its source is unknown, and seems equally strong both inside and outside the buildings, but strongest near the wall.

• Indigeo & Requisitions
When a requisition is attempted, the messengers display the following error message:

No requisitions will be processed until further notice. Also, food distributed from the Mess Hall may or may not be edible, although random objects may appear in place of meals.

• Journal Malfunctions
The messengers will begin acting strangely, losing or dropping in power, causing messages to post incorrectly, or in scrambled text, or to the wrong people. Screened and private entries may not maintain correct levels of security. The location system may display residents' positions incorrectly (wrong rooms/areas). Various other troublesome disruptions.

[STAGE TWO] Monday, Mar 24 - Wednesday, Mar 26
• Ash begins to fall from the sky, weather worsens
• Earthquakes begin
• Warden makes warning post


• Falling Ash & Weather
A slick, slippery grey ash begins drifting down from the sky. It clings to everything: hair, clothes, buildings. The sky grows heavily overcast, although this doesn't seem to be the source of the ash. Breathing in too much of it will make a person sick with a hacking cough.

• Earthquakes
Small earthquakes begin to tremble the ground, sometimes only minutes apart, sometimes hours. They build as the days pass, becoming steadily larger. Items are shaken from their shelves, walking is tricky, the buildings begin to show signs of strain.

• Warden Speaks
The Warden makes a short, terse messenger contact, advising the residents to stay indoors and not use the Indigeo. The message is terminated before it can be completed and the connection cannot be re-established.

These changes are in addition to the plot points outlined in the first stage. (IE, journals still acting up (although it's getting better), bad smell in the compound, malfunctioning Indigeo.)

[STAGE THREE] Thursday, Mar 27 - Saturday, Mar 29
• The ash and earthquakes stop briefly
• This glowing orb appears in the Commons and attacks [ THREAD HERE]
• Warden makes this post
• Cuffs fail/deactivated
• Injured and non-combatants gather in the Arena [ THREAD HERE]


• Falling Ash & Earthquakes
With one final heave of the earth, the ground stops its shaking. The ash dwindles until only a few grains are left drifting in the air. Even the wind becomes still, as though waiting.

• Orb Attacks
A massive bolt of lightning strikes the center of the Commons, leaving this in the crater formed. It attacks immediately, twisting bolts of energy flung in all directions, passing through buildings as though they weren't even there, and people in the way. Some are injured with burns or shocks, some aren't. Yet while it may pass through one person with only moderate harm, they are very much deadly. The following characters are killed within minutes, most before they even realize what's going on:

• Warden's Orders
The Warden posts his orders for the residents: to take the Entropi out. He relays that the cuffs have been nullified and their powers unrestricted. OOC: While their powers should be unhindered, please bear in mind that some things are still OOCly not allowed: escaping the compound, killing other characters (injuring them is allowed), etc.

• Defend the Compound
Characters who will be attacking the Entropi need to collectively do so using THIS POST for organization's sake. There is more information listed there.

• Arena Safety
Strengthened by protective barriers, the Arena is currently being used as a "safe zone" for characters who are injured or not planning to directly participate in fighting the Entropi. Although not completely safe, it has not been attacked yet. [ THREAD HERE]

• OOC - CASUALTIES WANTED
That's right, this mod!plot allows for character death. If you want a character of yours killed off (dead muse, whatever), post with their name and journal as a response THIS COMMENT only. We are tentatively allowing 10 characters to be eliminated in this manner. If we have more than that, ten will be selected by dice roll.

This is a good opportunity to drop struggling or dead muses with an IC reason. However, be aware that this isn't to be done lightly. There will be no "resurrection" of characters once this plot is finished. You can't re-apply for that character next week and continue playing them. Once they're gone, they're really gone. If you choose to drop a character in this manner, you will not be held to the 10-day rule for applying or reserving new characters. However, only a maximum of 2 characters per player is allowed to use this option. (Remember, if we get more than 10 "volunteers", it'll be random.)

[STAGE FOUR] Monday, Mar 31
• The Entropi is defeated! but poisons the compound
• Warden makes a warning post and tells gives (more) orders
• Residents are extracted from the compound every 2 hours in large groups along with small, personal possessions only


Most was explained in the individual linked posts, but questions can be addressed here.

• Evacuations
At each appointed time, the residents listed for each group will simply disappear right before people's eyes, no matter what they are doing or where they are. (I foresee some half-completed messenger posts.) Once they disappear, they will be "in limbo"; not able to post or do anything. Tomorrow's update will conclude the plot and also reveal where the character's find themselves. :O

• Casualties
Those who have chosen to drop their characters may either write their own "death scenes" during the aftermath of the battle and link them back to this post, or they will be "killed off" by the mods at the end of the plot in a vague manner.

[PLOT END] Tuesday, Apr 1

• New Environment
[NEW LAYOUT]
The Warden has relocated all the residents (almost all of them) to a new compound, this spanning pieces of a city block. Some things like the Obex wall are familiar, yet other sights are completely foreign. Characters will appear at random points around the compound. For more descriptions, see the updated section of the Extended Info for details.

• Warden's Explanation

• Plot Conclusion
This brings Econtra's 1st-anniversary mod!plot to a close. There will be a summary OOC post made later this evening to address some changes made to the game.
