The realization hurt. It hit him hard and strong and all at once... All the things he'd overlooked or brushed off as Naruto being busy or being typically ADD; all the little traits Sasuke had noticed that seemed off... The pure ignorance, the almost onehundred percet onesidedness of their relationship... Months it had been building without Sasuke even noticing. He believed in Naruto, and that was one hell of an acheivement. The fight on the water though reminded him of what he never thought would ever be true. When he called it off after their last fight it seemed like Naruto actually listened. He actually gave up. He actually stopped. That fight on the water... it reminded him so much of Naruto. The passion he always extroverted. The depth in his eyes. That sheer force of will. The need to get stronger. Even when Naruto was Rokudaime and Sasuke was assumed dead. In one way or another he was still following Sasuke. Searching for that opening to say, 'I knew it. I knew you were alive' Now? He was ignoring him. Flat out ignoring him in

Although she didn't know he might have, he hadn't put a barrier up against her. Mercury walked forward and then inside.
If she had been wholly conscious of the situation, she would still have been there. More importantly, your journal... She had worried, in that sort of hesitant, unsure, ineloquent way. However, in her current state, she simply wanted peace. A quiet mind.
Eventually, the blue-haired girl reached the room where the boy was meditating. She stayed outside it at first, watching him.
Clear his mind of the clutter. The disorganized thoughts and frustrations. The mixture of emotions that he couldn't sort or understand at the time. Part of him knew that Mercury would be wondering off. He did not expect her to be coming and finding him; but perhaps that was just coincidence, or perhaps it was -- his throughts stopped there as he heard her enter. Sasuke understood both sides of the arguement. Skuld, and Mercury. He understood the power that bond could do and the power that revenge could do; but like Mercury, Sasuke leaned more towards the posed warrior aspect. These bonds were not neccessary. Friendship and happiness was not neccessary. And one was not always depressed and listless if they were not bombastically happy. Content? Or even apathy. The feeling of success. Adrenalin. Skuld arguement that everything was based on happiness was poor. It seemed like people were still not accepting the fact that Econtra was not their world

What was there, really, to say? All of it was so obvious, between them who were similar: I left, too. I know why you left. I knew you would leave. We're full of that bitterness right now and we don't want to be! Either of them could say it to the other; both of them would be indulging in something completely unnecessary.
And yet, there was something to say, now that she was here. I want to stay here awhile. Simple, clean, matter-of-fact. It was just a statement of intent. As before, that time, she felt comfortable around him. Secure. She did not say it. Perhaps she did not say it yet.
Mercury stepped into the room and sat down near the boy engrossed in his meditations. Actually, they were similar to her own, but that wasn't saying much; meditation was meditation, to an extent - and similar was not same. She leaned her back against the wall.
He was a little whisper residing at the back of his brain, his existence a beacon through the cloudiness of this world. Regardless where he hid himself away, regardless how desperately he concealed his chakra signature and every little nuance of his being, the snake would be able to tilt his head in Sasuke's direction like a compass finding 'north.' His feet had already begun taking him towards his destination without hesitation.
When Sasuke wanted to hide, he hid well. He hid thoroughly. He hid in a way that would deter most normal or even strong-willed pursuers. That was the way things unraveled, so it seemed. But Orochimaru was different. He knew the child's tactics, knew what he would choose to do as soon as he had sensed that minor fluctuation in the other's chakra.
He approached the Uchiha's little hide-away, small smile decorating his face.
Once Mercury had decidedly joined him he put up the barriers. He wasn't good at seals, especially the Gofuu Kekkai when such a seal usually required more than one person to activate. However, he could create enough bunshin to place the five different seals at different points around the compound and focussed it to enclose them both in that one room. He placed one in the church at the very top on the bell. He placed one in the park at the top of a tree hidden well behind the budding leaves and other tree's of the small forested area. He placed on in the office building on the mid floor under an old office desk. He placed on in the school gym at the corner on the ceiling. The fifth he placed in the bank in behind a locked vault. In order to take down the barrier each five of these seals needed to be removed at exactly the same time; and when they were removed, IF they were removed... there would be another suprise waiting for them

It was a brief flash, and instant of clarity, and then it was gone. However, that was all Mercury needed. And thus, she found herself in the strange building, running down the hallway. The only thing on her mind since last night was finding her counterpart. However, after a moment, she realized something was wrong. She slowed, looking around. The hallway was... too long.
Frowning, Mercury lifted a finger and concentrated, trailing a finger down the wall and leaving a mark of ice. Then she ran down the hall again. A couple of minutes later, she slowed, then stopped as she found the ice marking. As she thought, she was trapped in a loop. Frowning, she got out her communicator, making a quick post. After that, she got back to thinking; if this was an illusion, she would break through it.
By the time Mercury had found her way inside the genjutsu Sasuke had woven, Orochimaru had already been along his way to breaking the first wave

He wants something... He wants you.
"Me?" Mercury repeated. She stared at Sasuke for a second; he had quite snapped her out of their strange mood.
I'm glad it's you who's falling into my hands. From now on, you belong to me!
How familiar.
She had no time to think about it further before her counterpart was in the room. Then Orochimaru must be--
Orichimaru was of course right behind her. The fog had helped her outmaneuver him, it seemed (Mercury could see its traces in the hallway), but of course it had not hindered him much. He was quite skilled as a shinobi.
She also had no words for her double immediately, too surprised the girl hadn't just done the smart thing and turned around if Orochimaru was here.
Yes, if Orochimaru was here, why hadn't she run? Or perhaps more to the point, why had he not engaged Sailormercury in a proper fight? Of course. He wants something from you. He would be much less likely to get it if he harmed that girl; probably he knew this and was being cautious.

"You," Sasuke responded calmly.
He had an idea or two of what it was. If it was in fact that, than there was really little to actually worry about. If anything he doubted Mercury would deny it. Orochimaru wasn't stupid. He didn't work so forcefully. He played on people's desires if they were desireable. (Usually.) Sasuke knew Orochimaru well.
He had nothing to say to the outbust of the woman either. He was not tense as Ami was. Either he'd gone numb (likely) or he'd stopped caring. There was nothing but serenety on his expression. Only those strong bloodbooled triple-tomoe hues that stared at the both of them wordlessly and almost impassively.
If anything happened he would be ready to attack or counter attack.

Orochimaru watched as the senshi vanished into a sea of fog, a slight tilt of his head as he observed this interesting transformation. He had seen such techniques utilized in a different fashion by those ninja of the mist, but nothing to this degree. Curious, that...
He made no move to stop her. It wasn't in his interest to halt her, yet. She posed him no threat as she was now. If she wanted to reach her counterpart - that was completely up to her. As he'd said - the choice was hers. He'd warned her.
Warned her.
He stepped in after her calmly, arms folded over his chest, eyes sliding from the dark senshi to his future vessel, smile blooming again over his lips.

The minute she saw her counterpart, she went to her side. As Orochimaru entered the room, Mercury lifted her sword in a similar manner as her almost-twin, still not afraid. She could feel Usagi's worry in her head, but she didn't let that affect her or let it show. One part of this outing was complete.
