Terra had explored most of the new compound already, but he hadn’t found anything to help lift his spirits. The entire area was in ruins. It was just an empty, dreary slice of some town. He’d given up on his search for familiarity after awhile and had headed out toward the wall. Part of him was tempted to launch an attack at the formidable boundary but something stopped him. Maybe it was the conversation he’d had with Ven over the messenger. Maybe he was still mindful of the cuff on his wrist. Maybe he was just too worn out to be angry. The knight glared briefly at the younger man, his upper lip curling in lieu of a verbal warning. His anger was just as short-lived as his smile had been, though, and once again he found himself looking at the wall ( ... )

He wasn't surprised when his hand was knocked away. Terra had a habit of wanting to take care of himself, and ever since he arrived here, his friend had been more distant than he was in the desert, when the three of them were together. It was an inevitable change, considering the trauma all three of them went through. Aqua had been almost...crazy, disheveled, and he expected little different from his older and stronger companion. So why hadn't he, himself, changed drastically? Or had he, and he was just not aware ( ... )
