D was walking around with his small incense burner in his hands, just trying to find a place where he could meditate quietly like he usually did in the Museum back in Chinatown. He paused a moment, looking at the young man who seemed to be searching for some guards. "I do not believe that you will find who you are looking for." He said quietly, "It seems that some of the people here were taken from their world by themselves."

Kuzco turned his head to the side, lifting his chin up and crossing his arms over his chest to practice his patented haughty pout. He wasn't sure who this person with the incense burner was or what they were up to. Probably no good... you know, like most peasants.

Rocking back and forth on his heels, he finally shrugged off the statement, "Yeah, well... no offense but I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to bring an Emperor here without any of his loyal guards. If this really is a war, anyway."

"From what I have learned, we have all been brought here to fight, not to have others fight for us." D didn't know much more, but it would appear that this newcomer didn't really understand what was going to be happening here, and honestly, D didn't care. "You don't seem to understand a thing." D was slightly annoyed, but then again, he was often annoyed by humans.

Kuzco nodded slowly at D with a polite expression one might use when dealing with children. When that faded a minute later, he narrowed his eyes and gestured at the other, "Oh, I understand. I get it. I'm on a roll. I'm also the Emperor. Kuzco the Emperor."

"I don't fight. Others fight for me. That's how the system works, bub. The empire is divided into classes. Those classes are controlled by me. The peasants work for me while the guards and the soldiers fight... for me," he pointed his thumb back at his chest.

Otogi stretched out under a tree, his eyes closed, enjoying the sun and the air. As much as he loved being with Fubuki, the week spent almost entirely inside of Ast-Eksi, with very little light, had given him quite the urge to be outdoors. He made a note to make a nightlight of some kind very soon. Opening his eyes to shadows wasn't something he enjoyed doing at all anymore.

Messing with that new idiot, whatever his name was, had given him some amusement, though. The idiot would figure out he wasn't the center of the cosmos around here sooner or later. He'd think about how to help him learn that later. For now, he was enjoying the fresh air...and being dressed.

Fubuki strolled across the commons, humming cheerily to himself. As far as he was concerned, the world was behaving exactly as it was supposed to, and life was good. He had half a mind to get some paper and try working on some new lyrics for his upcoming concert, and half a mind to find a friend and see if he could talk them into doing something fun - maybe having a quick duel. Spotting Otogi in the distance decided him, and he hurried over to join him.

"Destiny has drawn us together again!" he said with a declamatory flourish, and dropped down beside him.

Kuzco probably wouldn't have noticed Otogi at all if it hadn't been for the other guy's random announcement. There were certainly a lot of those peasants around. The ones plopped down under a tree looked like they were some of the more lazy ones. Propping his hands up on his hips, the Emperor glared in their direction and tapped his foot. Menacingly. Sort of.

"Hey. Hey, peasants," he called out after a moment, "Hellooooo. Your mighty Emperor could use just a little help over here."

Otogi's entire face lit up at the sight of Fubuki. "How nice of destiny. Do we need to invite her to the concert too?" he teased. Then he heard the other and turned towards him, eyes darkening slightly.

"You said what?" There wasn't so much a threat in the tone as there was sheer disbelief that someone had bothered them.

Usagi was nursing her baby, quietly, in a little corner of the Commons where no one really was. She still couldn't believe that Gaston - of all people - was hitting on her daughter. To be sure, it wasn't her Chibi-Usa, but the bond was there, nevertheless.

Then there was that idiot who was all "I'm king of the woooorld!~" He clearly had no idea how to run a world if he treated his people like dirt. It was a pretty hard task, and Usagi knew it. She hadn't even been officially crowned when she'd been taken to Econtra but she had been regarded as the queen of Earth - and to an extent the galaxy - and thus worked like one. It was hard, but worth it.

This "Kuzco" guy, on the other hand, pissed her off. If she ever saw him she'd give him a pice of her mind - and then some.

Azula had decided to take a stroll around the commons. Really, this place was getting MUCH more exciting now that everyone was stirred up about kidnappings and such. Of course, her only real concern at the moment was preparing to fight this Shukaku. She had trained of course, and was starting to again try water bending. It was very hard, considering she had to unlearn practically all she knew about fire, but at the moment she could push and pull the water. VERY promising.

The argument with the royal pretender had been amusing, but certainly hardly worth her time. At least until coming to the Commons she saw a strange young man with an equally odd costume. Hadn't the Halloween thing ended all ready? Honestly.

It was at this moment Usagi noticed the man in the strange costume. Her eyes narrowed at his words. Clearly he was the one who trumpeted his superiority over everyone.

Well - she would see how long that,/i> lasted. She hated,/i> shallow people like this.

"Lovely," she muttered. "You must be the emperor."

Kuzco hadn't really expected to see so many peasants around. If there were this many wandering the commons alone, the village had to be pretty big. And pretty pointless. No one was working or even paying attention to him. How dare they! As he looked around, trying to spot someone to worship him and find his guards, he spotted two different women. Eh. He'd seen better before. But then he'd seen worse, too. At least they were almost sort of hotties... if he squinted a little in one eye and tilted his head to the side.

"Yeah, there's a note to self," he scoffed, shaking his head, "Need to have a little talk with the kidnapper later. If you're going to throw women in for the Emperor and his guards, try to find nice looking girls."

Duo was spending his own time loitering, and munching on some of those cookies he'd received. He sat against his own tree, trying to maintain a distance, mostly a safe distance from Otogi, despite their new report.

He gave a brief yawn as he surveyed the area, people watching, as boring as it could be, was really all he wanted to do, besides, of course, if someone felta need to interact with him directly, in which case, he'd welcome it.

Kuzco wasn't above trying out his options when it came to peasants. There had to be one of them that would behave. He turned and headed toward another of the young men nearby. It was time for a new tactic, "Peasant! You haven't seen any guards around lately, have you? Very big men? A little on the completely brainless side?"

He gestured above his head as a general estimate on how large the guard he was looking for were.

"Nope, no gaurds. Course, you could try lookin in a mirror for the brainless part." Duo scoffed, but his lips turned upwards into a smirk.

Duo stood and gave a curt bow, still with that goofy grin, "Hello, your majesty."

A polite peasant?

"Ahahahaaaa-..." Kuzco cut himself off, deadpan, "Oh, the humor. It never ends around here, does it?"

He beamed at the sight of the bow, though. That was better! Maybe not the genuine adoration and servitude he was used to but it was progress after the crowd of lazy peasants who couldn't be bothered to even stand up.

"That wasn't so hard, now was it? What's your name, decent peasant guy?"

Tseng was doing recon, like usual. There were new people around and he wanted to see what he could find out about anyone. It was just the way he was. Also, he was waiting to see if he would get his gun back, so that he could possibly start with his own training schedule so that he could keep his skills up. He was assassin and his primary weapon was his gun and he wanted it back. Pausing for a moment, he heard a newcomer wondering where his guards were. Shaking his head, Tseng paused for a moment.

"I haven't seen any one's guards. Just assassins." Though Tseng acted as bodyguard for President Shinra, he preferred to do other things.

Kuzco spun back, regarding the new peasant with a bored look, "Assassins?" The experiences he'd had with assassins had been less than impressive. Certainly not the sort of people he needed right now.

"There's got to be at least a couple of guards," he protested, skimming the commons again. Unbelievable.

"It all depends on who you talk too. You see, I happen to be both a body guard and an assassin." Tseng was enjoying messing with Kuzco, just because he could. Sadly, he couldn't actually do anything to Kuzco, since the cuffs were at full strength and it would knock him out. At least he was starting to have a bit of fun instead of angsting in his room.

"Now that's impressive," Kuzco quipped, not at all daunted by the thought of talking to a big scary assassin. After all, he was Emperor and no one... but those crazy women peasants and the guy with the dragon... dared to mess with the Emperor, "Sounds like you're a pretty busy guy. Have you ever had the honor of serving a mighty Emperor?"
