Azula steals the Chaos Emerald for Mercury as promised.
(Shadow will want it back.)
Mercury also remakes her sword while she has the extra power.
Warnings: none, really? Psuedo-violence once Shadow turns up?
Mercury had not expected Azula's offer, but she didn't plan to be slow to take advantage of it and exploit it, either.
Shadow's chaos emerald was an impressive relic. With it, when he'd let her experiment with it, Mercury's power had increased enormously. More to the point, it reinforced the same energy and influences that coursed through her from the Dark Kingdom. She wanted it again as much for that as for the power: that certainty of her purpose and mission.
Actually, she needed that right now more than ever - both, really. Fighting Bellatrix and ending up injured. Mio's attack that had broken Mercury's sword. She was sure she'd need to fight again. Then there was everything she'd learned lately: her pitifully short lifespan once she returned to her world, some unknown horrible event she was sure overtook that world (destruction after all?), and...
"You barely even realize it anymore, do you? Someone's already done a great deal of damage..."
Pharaun was irritating. Mercury decided not to dwell on that line of thought and made sure to stand near the wall of one of the buildings; she'd be able to use it later. For now, she waited for Azula.
