[Thread] Knock-knock, delivery!

Aug 08, 2007 00:04

The Warden did not know the exact reasons that the Indigeo had failed to distribute the medicine required to stave off the ill effects of the rain. The Indigeo, like the Consulo, was not under his command and in any case, he was a soldier by training and not one of its creators or maintainers. Yet the medicine had been created as requested, and ( Read more... )

Asch was barely conscious by that time, though Syaoran had left some time before. So, he couldn't help but groan at the sound of the knocking. Damn it...

He slowly pushed himself up (god stop spinning world please) and made his way to the door, unsteady on his feet.

By the time he got to the door, he looked frazzled, and more than ready to pass out. "What?" he snapped, as best as he could manage.

The Warden vaguely recalled this one as a newer arrival, but did not seem at all intimidated by Asch's tone. "You have been alloted a measure of antitoxin which will inhibit the precipitation's damaging effects," he said blandly.

When he heard a knock at the door of Dor-Okto, Cloud closed his eyelids and fervently wished the sound to be nothing but an echo of a memory. It wasn't, though, and, (breathing rougher than he had ever had to before bright laboratories and mako) made his way to the door.

Leaning against the wall, Cloud opened the door and blinked a few times before the person in front of him became less of a blue and more like a solid image. The blond didn't recognize him, wondering if the man was a roommate's acquantice. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. After another attempt, he managed the word--"Y-Yes?"

Cloud stared, wondering why this man's words all seemed so far when he was standing not but a few feet in front of him. But he was a reasonable person, so silently outstretched a hand and took the vial.

"Thanks," He murmured quietly, peering at the stranger. "Who are you?"

"I am known as the Warden," the white-suited man said.

Cassis would have slept much, much longer had the door not been knocked on. Annoyed, she had first thought it was Jing. But then she remembered she had fallen asleep in Jing's room and on his bed. He wouldn't be knocking on his own door, would he? Groaning softly, wishing she hadn't been woken up for now her headache was back, Cassis rolled over and sat up. Rubbing her temples, she coughed as she stood and walked to the door.

Opening it made her jump at the unfamiliar man standing there. It took her a moment to recover and she rubbed one eyes sleepily.

"Y-Yes...?" Cassis stammered uncertainly, suddenly nervous.

It took a few seconds for Cassis to process what he had said. Even then she didn't understand entirely what he had just said. Her head hurt. "Er..." She took the medicine he offered it, but gave it a skeptical look.

"Okay then..."

Opening it, Cassis bravely took it in one gulp without thinking. She immediately regretted it and gagged, coughing. Her stomach tightened painfully. "UGH! That made me feel worse!"

The Warden seemed unmoved by her reaction to the medicine. However he replied, "The medicine does not have negative effects, you should not feel worse upon ingesting it."

She was just getting her things to take over to Dor-Okto to stay overnight (and careful to avoid even looking at Yagami-san's door) when there was a knock. Quickly, she opened it and stared up at the man in white.

"Warden-san?" she asked, "What brings you here?"

It took her a moment to remember.

"Is this for the medication I requested for Marker-san?"

"Oh, thank you!" she said and took the vial with a smile, "Could you wait here a moment, please? I have something for you."

The Warden looked faintly puzzled by the request and did not respond, however he did not leave, either.

Elincia sorely wished she had been inside when the rain had started. As it was, she had spent most of the day sleeping and trying not to think about what was wrong with her. The thought of being sick only made her think of the plague. And that was not a line of thinking she wanted to follow.

She carefully made her way to the door, wanting nothing more than to just lay down somewhere. After opening the door, she blinked blearily at the strangely clothed man on the other side. He was vaguely familiar... "H-hello?"

"Oh," she said quietly, suddenly disconcerted. If she needed medication then... Just how contaminated was that rain? Elincia shook her head, stopping quickly after as it only served to make her headache worse, and reached out to take the vial.

"Thank you, sir..." she trailed off. The question of his identity was still nagging at her. It was just at the edge of her mind. A nondescript room... A headache... "You are... I have seen you before. ...Lord Warden?"
