Erk watched the building come down silently. He reflected that despite the inconvenience, it seemed they'd gained a powerful ally. Quite apart from having a new Consulo, if the Warden could bring that power to bear in defense of the compound...

The young mage may have not been a professional tactician, but he'd picked up a thing or two. And he couldn't suppress a shiver as the Warden walked away. If that was a natural ability and not something bestowed by the Keepers, he hated to imagine what might happen if someone with that sort of power was on the other side.
