Dueling didn't seem to be as common a practice in Econtra as it was at home, and so upon seeing a challenge, Siegfried had been quick to accept. So far Siegfried's dueling hadn't gone as well as he was accustomed. He'd only won a single duel since his arrival.

As Siegfried approached the dueling field, he hoped to change that luck.

Johan didn't bother to hide the grin. "Thanks," he said. "Turn end." He fought down the urge to be too cocky. There was still the chance that something Siegfried drew could turn the tables. Sure, at least in his point of view, the odds were in his favor. But...well, he'd see what happened.

Johan's grin worried Siegfried. One wasn't supposed to grin when an attack was stopped unless one wanted it to happen.

Drawing, Siegfried saw that it was Final Light. Now that would be a useful spell, even if it did come with a hefty price tag. But at that price, he would have a monster on the field and Johan would lose one. "At the cost of 1000 life points, I shall activate the spell Final Light. This allows me to bring Valkyrie Zwei back from the Graveyard. And her special effect shall send your Pegasus to the Graveyard!"

Unfortunately, Zwei didn't have the attack points to defeat the Mammoth. However with the right draw next turn, that could change. "That shall end this turn."

Unfortunately, Siegfried wasn't going to get another turn. "Remember, my Gem Beasts don't go to the graveyard at all." He grinned more widely as the sapphire appeared in the spell and trap zone, and once it was his turn, he drew his card. "And now it's time to end this! I summon Cobalt Eagle!"

His grin hit the 'manic' stage now. "And I activate my trap!" The trap card he'd had in waiting for turns now flipped over. "Gem Formation-Amber! For this turn, Amber Mammoth will have the combined attack strength of all the Gem Beasts on my field! And right now...that's five thousand and nine hundred! Amber Mammoth...attack Valkyrie Zwei!"

Siegfried could do little more than gape as the mammoth charged his precious Valkyrie, destroying her and sending his life points dropping down to nothing. And the duel was undoubtedly at an end.

Johan relaxed a bit. That hadn't been quite as close as the duel with Saioh, but he'd still had a bad feeling about it. "Good duel," he declared, gathering up his cards, and chuckled. "Guess I didn't need to send those cards to teh graveyard after all." Ah, well. Not every plan always worked out, after all.
