Johan didn't often go up to the roof himself. But today he felt like a bit of fresh air, and for once, he decided to go up instead of down. After that whole mess with the Warden...well, he wasn't sure at the moment how anything stood with Yubel and Haou and himself, and he didn't feel inclined to think about it too much right now.

So, he left a note to let Juudai know where he was going to be, making certain to pin it down so it wouldn't fall under a table or anything, and headed upstairs. Ruby Carbuncle was on his shoulder, trilling softly now and then.

When he got up to the top, he saw someone else was already up there, someone wearing black. Johan thought he looked vaguely familiar, and figured he probably lived somewhere on the Paj floor, so he'd likely seen him there.

Johan wandered over to the edge and peered over carefully, trying not to bother the other young man. It did look to be a long way down.

The soft sound of footsteps made Manjoume aware of the fact that he was no longer alone on the roof. Not that he had been about to insist any time soon that it was his roof or anything - it was public area too, just out-of-the-way public area. But still, the fact that there was someone else there... didn't completely ruin any peace that there might have been, but it certainly didn't go unnoticed.

A brief glance to the side told him that it wasn't anyone he actually knew, who had come to the roof. He thought he might have seen the other one around in the hallway or something, but that was the only connection he could make.

Because it was no one he knew, he decided not to say anything for the moment. If the other young man decided to say something, he would respond, but he wouldn't initiate.

Johan moved a bit back from the edge; he was not in any mood to end up a splatter on the pavement. He shivered some at a gust of wind and wrapped himself more tightly in his fleece jacket. At least that had come through the Event That Hadn't Happened better than the shirt he'd worn then had.

He glanced again at the other, and decided it would be rude to not at least introduce himself. "Johan Andersen," he said after a moment, holding his hand out politely.

Johan Andersen... He vaguely recognized that name, from somewhere. He'd heard it, once or twice before, though he couldn't remember the context right now. He shrugged it off, for now - if it was important, he would figure it out.

But since Johan was being polite and introducing himself, it would only be polite to respond in turn. "Manjoume Jun," he introduced himself, accepting the handshake.

The rooftop of the building he stayed in was where Shadow spent most of his time; anyone who knew him soon discovered that. It was one of those rare places in the compound where solitude could be found without having to shut himself indoors. The solitude was only relative, of course, but in the rare event that someone else came up to the roof while he was there, he simply ignored them.

Never before had he nearly teleported into someone while getting there. But there was a first time for everything.

The hedgehog stepped back, startled, as the blue light faded and he found himself immediately next to someone he'd never even met before. He put a few feet of distance between them and looked up, raising an eyebrow and folding his arms, and silently thanking chance that Chaos Control hadn't landed him inside the same space the human occupied.

Well. That had certainly been unexpected. But then, who ever did expect someone who looked vaguely like a black humanoid hedgehog to appear out of nowhere right next to you?

To say that Manjoume was startled would be a good description of his reaction, only understating it slightly. He did jump from surprise, but it didn't take him more than a few seconds to calm himself sufficiently enough to turn toward the creature that had simply appeared. "What was that for?!" he asked in a raised tone of voice, attempting to cover his shock and somewhat fear with irritation - a natural reaction of his.

Shadow gave an irritable snort, narrowing his eyes. "It wasn't intentional," he growled. The child in front of him didn't seriously think he did things like that for fun, did he? Sure, they'd never met, but how many people could there be who liked teleporting into others for kicks?

Anyway, if the kid was going to be confrontational and obnoxious like this, then persuading him to leave might be far more worthwhile than turning around and ignoring him. Shadow couldn't help but feel a little possessive over the place he spent most of his time at, and he didn't want to have to see this idiot's face here again if he was going to accuse him of ridiculous things like this.

Regaining his composure somewhat, Manjoume turned away. "Fine," he replied, in a tone that suggested that if that was the case, he wouldn't make any more of it. Really, he had just been startled - it wasn't his rooftop any more than it was anyone else's, and if the other wanted to be up here too, he wasn't going to try to argue with that. If the hedgehog thing wasn't going to bother him, why should he bother it?
