Sanzo had been searching the compound for his missing companions, actually, but he was chilled to the bone and decided to warm up and rest before going out again. The top of his robe was pulled down and he was flopped on the ugly sofa that had been there before he arrived, staring into the distance as he smoked and had a beer.

He looked over at the knock, and after a moment he set down the bottle and got up, throwing open the door then turning back without so much as a grunt.

"Hey," Gojyo greeted Sanzo's back lamely as he followed the monk back to his living room, taking the armchair across the table from Sanzo's sofa without bothering to wait for an offer. As if Sanzo would even give one. Taking his cigarette out of his mouth, he put it out on the ashtray in between them and sighed.

"Gotta talk to you about--" Gojyo started, but the stopped abruptly, not exactly knowing what should come out next. How was he supposed to begin explaining about...

Well, it had been the way almost everyone else found out, why not? The redhead paused, looked at the monk to make sure he was paying attention, then reached behind his head to keep untie the string that kept his eyepatch in place. It fell to his lap and Gojyo slowly opened his green eye, fighting the urge to blink at the usual bluriness that came from unusue.

"Hakkai's," he said quietly, knowing that Sanzo already recognized it.

"About what?" Sanzo started to ask, then froze as Gojyo removed the eye-patch. He hadn't asked about it. It was his business and Sanzo didn't really care.

His eyes went wide as he stared into the familiar green eye. "What did you do?" he asked. Had he taken Hakkai's eye? Why?

He couldn't maintain the eye contact for very long. Gojyo turned eyes and looked down at his lap, blinking furiously. "Last time--this was what me and Goku were talking about. You said you didn't care but--you know--you got to know. Before it happens and--so--so you can stop him and--
