It had surprised Ahiru to find a place in the park that resisted the winter. It had been a pleasant surprise, and she'd decided to go out there every chance she had. What she never expected to find, however, was someone punching holes in the trees. She stared in wide-eyed horror at the destruction this one creature caused?

'Why?' Ahiru asked herself. 'Why would anyone do this!?' The tree had never hurt anyone. Wanting to do something, anything, to stop the destruction, Ahiru's hands drifted to the pendant she wore. The gentle warmth of its magic cocooned her, changing her into Princess Tutu. With a new confidence and grace, she approached the creature. "Why do you do this?"

Kragok glanced back, glaring hate and death at the girl who spoke to him. What was she to judge his actions, to ask the why or how of anything he did? Instead of replying, Kragok turned around slowly, his furious expression not once leaving his face. He didn't say anything, only continued to regard Ahiru with heated anger, and then turned back around, ignoring her. He was enraged enough to attack most anyone at the moment, but even he wouldn't kill a child.

Ahiru wasn't put off by being ignored. She'd gotten used to Achmed's moods and sulks, so this creature's moods didn't bother her. She should have taken the hint to leave, but she didn't. Achmed would have called her foolish. Instead, Ahiru tried again. "What did the tree do to deserve this?"

Kragok spun around rapidly, firing off a weak warning shot of lightning in front of Ahiru, scorching the ground in front of her and melting the snow around him and next to her. "So help me," he swore, "if you come any closer, or say anything more I will burn you until not even your cinders remain."
