Baltha had felt the rush of magic as she walked into the plaza - not as strongly as she would have had it been her world's magick, but noticeable nonetheless. She strode over to the green-skinned woman who seemed to be the source of the energy. "Quite a spell."

The dark brown eyes tilted towards Baltha, green tinted expression hinting a bit towards the spectrum of surprise. An Animal or animal? A mixture of both? Wondered Elphaba with slight confusion. The Viera was not a race she knew, nor were there any humanoid animal-like creatures from the world she came from. Except for herself, she knew of no one with distinct physical differences that wouldn't be considered a deformity. Then again, there are those who consider the color of my skin a birth defect. The witch thought wryly ( ... )

It was a good thing Elphaba sounded so respectful; Baltha didn't take kindly to rabbit jokes. She raised an eyebrow. "I'm afraid not. I'm a viera."

The witch said nothing in response, her eyes giving the impression of someone writing a mental note on the information she had just been given. Then there followed an awkward silence, in which Elphaba watched the long-eared woman with a veiled discomfort. Her body stood all at odd angles, a physical representation of her inner distress at being in the company of another being. Slowly she bent down to pick up the heavy book, joints still moving as if she were an older woman than the age in her face showed. As she stood, Elphaba snugged the tome tightly into the crook of her arm as if it were a child to protect from the dangers of the world.

The earthy gaze went immediately wary at the knowledgeable tone that the man possessed. Elphaba edged around him, giving far clearance to the fountain he sat on, watching both the man and the worn carved stone with equal concern. "A variation? What do you mean?" She stopped before him with her hands at her sides, a crookedness to her stance that made her body seem angular and unwelcoming. Her voice reflected the instant dislike she held for his superior tone - prickling and poking. The witch's eyes were sharp as razors.

Elphaba cast protective eyes on the tome that Cobweb's gaze fell on, snatching it from the ground before he could possibly damage or possess it with his gaze alone. Her brown gaze glared at him fiercely, no little hint of madness present in the wild stare. "Are you with him? Do you know of him? How can you tell whether this world is his or not?"

At the introduction, the black-clad figure recoiled slightly, as if uncomfortable with the very title she had spoken to name herself. The shadowed glare of brown eyes focused on him intently, and some hint of the insanity faded from her gaze.

"It seems I'm not the only witch here." Elphaba said wryly, managing to add venom to the simple words. She wanted to hurt something at the moment, wanted to take revenge for being ripped from her own world. "I had no idea the Wizard was making a collection of them. Hopefully I am the only one who's green, or surely I will die of jealousy." Her voice twisted with pained sarcasm. "I like being an antique, the perfect definition of Wickedness."

It had been some time since Shadow had actively observed the sudden appearance of a new arrival in this place. It was a curious sight - it always was - but this one seemed a little more unusual than most, given the effects by which it had been accompanied. He had to assume it had been some kind of spell, whatever she was doing, but he was not one capable of sensing magical power.

He stood some distance away, leaning back against a building with his arms crossed. Only when the other two who had gone to speak with the woman had finished did he approach, mildly intrigued but mostly just bored enough to address someone.

"What was that?"

An Animal? Is this individual truly one of that kind? Elphaba watched the dark spiked hedgehog with a hint of wariness that she normally didn't offer beings that were distinctly non-human. His question clearly unnerved her, the dark brown eyes narrowing faintly as she stood, limbs edged and bony.

The broom was picked up and held at her side, the thick tome still clutched tightly against her body. Fingers that could be claws buried themselves slightly in the leather cover. "Something to seek the truth- Nothing- Nothing important- Why do you ask?" There was suspicion in the intense eyes, a hint of overprotective madness.

Interesting. Was she frightened of him? She hadn't seemed as wary when talking to the other two, although Shadow hadn't been interested enough to pay much attention. But there was something in her eyes that said she was nervous about his approach specifically, and Shadow couldn't help but enjoy it a little. It had been some time since those here had given him proper respect. Although it seemed base, there was something enjoyable about being feared.

"I've never seen anything like it," he replied, continuing to take a few steps closer.

She stood her ground, muscles visibly tensing, loathing more the proximity with another being then the fact that she was particularly afraid of the talking hedgehog. After all, the idea of talking Animals was not a new one to her. However, his interest in her abilities was something her edgy personality could not help but be concerned about.

"And never will again. I'm not staying." The green-skinned woman said matter-of-factly, earthy eyes narrowing slightly at the creature approaching her. Her stance went bony and sharp, her features slipped into angular planes.

Morgana wasn't in a good mood at all. When she had found out that someone had taken the antidote for Gosalyn she stalked out of her apartment and set out, trying to use her magic to try and find it. So far it had lead her to finding absolutely nothing. She was rather annoyed that her spells kept backfiring.

She paused when she got to the fountain and looked around. She then felt the tingle of magic in the air around someone close by and she blinked at Elphaba.

"You know how to do magic." She stated, walking closer.

The earth-brown eyes swung around to take in the duck-woman, both sharpening and softening in surprise as the witch came to recognize yet another Animal, or so it would appear. It seemed while the talent was fading from the sentient Animals of Oz, this world still had plenty of speaking beast-kind. This made her somewhat angry, irrationally so, but nonetheless sparked a sort of flare of wrathful rage within her mostly-sane mind.

The fringes of her thoughts curled ash-black with hidden inner disappointment. Didn't I try so hard in Oz to save them? Didn't I? And here they thrive, here they walk about without fear - perhaps even with confidence over humankind. Why here... why not there? Her broom was in her hand, and she was glad, because she could grip it tightly with trembling fingers to try and still her trembling. Even in another world there was plenty to remind her of her past failures ( ... )

"It all depends on what world you're from. Some places magic is quite real." Morgana said with a slight smile. "My name is Morgana Macawber." She said, introducing herself. Her anger had faded a bit around the edges, but it was still here. She shivered, finally noticing that she had left her apartment without a coat. It was rather cold outside.

Sighing, she waved her hand around, motioning like she was wrapping a cloak around herself and in a shower of silver sparkles, a cloak did appear around her.

"That's much better." She said with a smile.

Elphaba shook her head, though at what it was hard to tell. The motion was indistinct and meant to be so. During the introduction, the brown eyes focused on the billed face before her, a slight furrow forming in the verdant brow. "Elphaba. Elphie. Whatever you prefer." The witch said with a tired shrug, watching without comment as the cloak appeared and wrapped itself around the Duck's shoulders.

Tony headed out of the apartment once in a blue moon these days. Wait, that was almost true for the entire time he'd been here. Nevermind. Nothing new or exciting here. Not in that statement anyway.

However, here's one for you: the businessman was extra cautious these days; although he wore a pressed suit, perfect fit, special tailor with an expensive overcoat, a long, pseudo-trenchcoat with a wool lining (nevermind where he got such things) beneath this a special device was hooked up to the Arc reactor on his chest--his right wrist and palm were distinctly that of the Iron Man.

He was wearing the Repulsor ray as a singular defensive weapon.

As to why he was out this day was a mystery--for now--but he seemed to drift towards the plaza on default. Either he was on his way to somewhere else from this central hub of the city, or he was just out here to--observe or something. It didn't really matter in the end. He became distinctly distracted when he caught sight of the green woman...

That emerald-hued creature looked up at him as he stopped to stare, something that she was more used to than she ought to be. She felt the biting fire as the blue eyes settled on her, the handsome face still with thought as it looked at her. And Elphaba couldn't help but cringe, angular joints recoiling slightly as if his sight pained her. Then instinct settled in, and she stood taller again, all bony lines vanishing as some memory of Shiz University and the attention she received there on a regular basis grew as a focus for response in her mind ( ... )

Tony went into what Pepper might have called "Stark businessman defensive reaction number one" at that long list of fallacies. He went rigidly stoic and stared down at her with a superior gaze. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I'm very well known for my lack of heart," he replied with dripping sarcasm that bit deep into the flesh. His tone, indeed, was seriously lacking in heartfelt emotion other than scorn.

"And it just so happens," he continued with that superior line of fashion, "that I have in fact seen someone like you before. And much more hideous for that matter. You'll find you're not so unique in this place. There are plenty like you here."

Elphaba gave a rough noise, something between a snort and a huff. "I wouldn't eat any human heart - haven't you heard? They're notorious inconsistent and often rotten to the core." Her gaze tilted slightly, as if she could possibly see through his facade of petty meanness. "I'd rather choke on a fish bone." The witch's eyes narrowed faintly. "Though not the bones of a Fish." There was a distinct difference in the way she said the second version of the same word.

"Are you sure?" There was a hint of a smile on her lips. "Maybe you should bring your hideous friend here for comparison. I reserve judgment until I see who you're speaking of." Her voice was dry, but slightly amused. "I've noticed that there are quite a few that make me seem almost boring." Her brown eyes flickered darkly. "Ha...I might even grow jealous at this lack of attention. I'm not used to not being the topic of conversation when I enter a room." Her smile bloomed suddenly, but it was bitter and wistful.
