Ssil looked around nervously. She hadn't expected to be out so late, but she'd lost track of time. Still, it was after dark... on All Hallow's Eve...

She jerked around, thinking for a moment that she'd heard a noise coming from an alleyway. "W-who'sss there?"

He had a bite! Yes!

Ickis beat feet to the next hiding spot, deliberately allowing her to hear the movement. Then he slunk to the next one so that if she went to investigate, she would find nothing.

The footsteps didn't help matters. Especially since her imagination kept trying to turn them into the tapping of an enormous spider's legs. Surely they wouldn't bring one of the First Ones here...? She crept up to the place she'd heard the footsteps heading for last to investigate.

Nothing.

Ssil shivered. "Thisss plassse isss making me paranoid," she muttered.

Oh, he was really enjoying himself now! If only the other students at the Academy could see this when he was done!

He slunk around again, at one point deliberately allowing his claws to scrape against the cobblestones.

"Lead them on and lead them wrong," Slickis had once advised his son. Advice that seemed to work brilliantly.

A scream cut through the silence of night. One block away, Leon Kennedy was jolted from where he'd fallen in a state of half-sleep by one of the Cafe tables. His blood turned to ice, not for himself but for a certain young lizard girl, whose voice he thought he'd recognized in that scream.

"Ssilissa!"

The ex-cop made a dash in the general direction of the cry, skidding to a stop at the mouth of one of this city's benighted alleyways. Pistol ready in a double-handed grip, his blue eyes scanned the darkness for movement. Fury burned in that searching gaze. If one of the crazies here had gotten his hands on Ssil...

The little monster's ears twitched in the direction of the shout. The name meant nothing to Ickis, him having never met this "Ssilissa".

However, the human's clearly offensive stance sent off all sorts of alarm bells. Ickis had never seen the little machine the human held in action before but he didn't want to find out what it did.

Carefully, he backed up and away, hoping to hide in the shadows.

Syaoran wasn't sure why she was out all by herself on such a creepy night. Well... at night by yourself was always really creepy, but tonight it seemed a little extra. As though subconsciously she knew it was the night where ghosts and monsters would be out and looking to scare people. Her puppy ears picked up a sound that made her stop abruptly, fur raising on end. "Who--?" She didn't know many people here really, so that alone was a very scary thought. And coupled by the fact that she could not see well...

If the strange human's reaction was any indicator, he had a potential victim on his hands. Tonight was getting better and better!

He darted swiftly to another hiding place, creating a fast-moving shadow to unnerve the human.

Again, not being able to see made the sudden shadows in her peripheral vision seemed so much more bigger then it actually was. Syaoran squeaked and jumped away from where ever she saw that shadow, backing up until her back bumped against the corner of the alley. Which also made her jump in alarm. Of course, turning to see the wall made her feel a little amused with herself.

Ickis tried focusing in on Looming but couldn't get anything major to happen. Mentally berating himself, he settled for what he could do:

His eyes turned bright red, glowing slightly in the darkness as he moved just enough from his hiding spot for her to possibly see them.

Despite how tired she was, Persephone was near skipping down the dark streets of Econtra, sun lamp in her company. The thought of Halloween, though strange and foreign, was rather fascinating. The things people -- or in this case monsters -- came up with were neat, she had to admit.

But, uh, what was that moving in the shadows? And now that she thought about it, it was rather dark, a bit cloudy even... There were lots of things to watch out for in the compound, especially recently, and why had she decided to do this again?

Ickis blinked from the bright light of her lamp. Wow.

Still, he snuck up behind her before leaping up onto her back. His claws rested close enough to her neck to, hopefully, unnerve her but far enough away to prevent injury.

He leaned forward, his hot breath blowing against her ear.

Too bad the effect was ruined with his cheery "Hi, Persephone!"

That was probably a good thing. Persephone had completely frozen at the feel of something on her back, the claws against her skin. She had been this close to running away screaming.

The familiar voice, though, caused her to flood with relief even if she still stood tensed. Monster! On her back!

"H-hello, Ickis!" the goddess stammered, doing her best and failing to put on her brave face. If it had been anyone else, Persephone probably would have been dead. "That was, uh... You can get off me now?"

"Okay!"

He easily hopped off of her, landing on the cobblestones behind her before darting around so he stood before the goddess. He practically bounced as he babbled, "Ready to go scaring? This is gonna be so much fun! It'll be a little hard to sneak up on people with that lamp though. Or maybe you can use it to make it hard to see until it's too late! That would be cool!"
