A blue-haired girl arrived in the park after a while, looking ordinary but feeling anything at that. She was calm and confident, head held up high and steps sure. It was more of a habit than anything, really; Maria Traydor was, after all, the leader of a revolutionary organization of a galactic scale. However, intimidating as she may seemed, she did smile as she walked up to the Legionnaire. They hadn't met, but she was a fairly good judge of people, and almost knew for certain that this was the person she was supposed to meet.

"Querl," she acknowledged with a nod. "I apologize for the delay."

Responding to the smile in kind, pleased to see that his contact also appeared to be in at least a somewhat positive mood, Querl nodded in response politely and offered his hand to shake.

"Maria? It's no problem... thank you for agreeing to come out here. Before we actually begin tests, would you mind explaining to me a little further how you understand your powers to work?" Querl was used to others not fully understanding their own capabilities, including some of his own teammates at home, but still felt at least Maria's impression of the way her powers functioned and were triggered, from her perspective, would help him decide how to begin testing. "That is, how you call on your abilities, what your experiences are when using them... that sort of thing."

Maria shook Querl's hand firmly, then took a step back as she thought of the answers to his questions. "The major outbursts of power come involuntarily, unconsciously," she began. "I usually get a migraine as a warning sign, and then... it just happens. That time with the battleship, I blacked out afterwards. My friends also told me that light emanates from my forehead when it happens."

She shrugged somewhat. "I can control the smaller outbursts. Sort of. But I have to focus on the object I intend to alter, and it stays in that altered state for as long as I am able to keep my focus."

"I see." Querl nodded, listening to her descriptions with attention. So it seemed that her abilities would be limited in both time and strength, at the risk of damaging her own health.

"Well, since you can control the smaller outbursts, we ought to start with those. Would you mind a minor demonstration on something else before we try your ability's effect on energy? I ask because, should something go wrong during the test, I want to be able to distinguish it from the normal side-effects of your powers." Besides which, he was still curious. "Something small, such as a rock, perhaps?"
