Characters: OU!Derek Stiles, open Where: The Park When: Sometime during the song plot Summary: Derek's in a good mood thanks to all the singing and takes a walk around. Warnings: None so far.
Hearing the remark, Derek stopped in his tracks, looking around for the source for a second before locating him. The comment left him puzzled, since he was pretty sure he hadn't said anything out loud, aside from the humming brought on by the recent bouts of singing. Of course, he'd seen stranger things here.
"Thank you, but...can you read minds, or did I say that out loud by mistake?"
"Oh...thank you again, then! That's a relief." Derek laughed, a little nervously--he'd gotten used to all the magic in Econtra, but he still wasn't too personally acquainted any anybody who could use it outside of healing. "I guess you can tell the future or something like that too, then, huh?"
Zel was in a fairly good mood. He'd had the luck not to open too many posts from terrible singers, and even the niggling voice at the back of his head that was constantly on his case about not getting his memories back was leaving him alone for a little while.
He was humming the song he'd been singing earlier - what was it? Something about life being a road? - as he walked. Spotting someone else with the same idea, he waved cheerily.
"Hey there!" Derek waved back, always glad to see some friendly people around. He knew not everyone was pleased with all the singing lately, but there had to be people enjoying it too, whether or not they were directly affected by it. "Enjoying the weather today?"
Zel grinned widely. "Yeah; nice day, isn't it?" Drawing a bit closer so that he didn't have to talk quite so loudly, he added, "Don't think we've met. I'm Zelgadiss Graywords, but you can call me Zel."
"I'm Derek Stiles. I don't remember meeting you before, either...so nice to meet you now, Zel!" Derek smiled, also turning towards him. "Been having a good time lately? The weather, the music...I think it's a pretty nice day."
