Characters: AU Duo Maxwell, open Where: When:Third apartment building roof. Summary: Duo is working on a little project to keep himself busy. Warnings: TBA
Finding the spot hadn't been too hard, considering it was visible from the sky. Since the invitation had been given, Danny hoped Duo wouldn't mind him dropping in. As he came closer to the spot, he could see a strange shape on a table, and guesses as to what that was made him feel like a teenage girl about to shake hands with Chip Skylark or something.
He paused and hovered in the air a few minutes before landing. He didn't know what brought on all that singing, but if it was emotions, he definitely had to calm down. "Uh, hi! Duo! It's me, Danny." His ghostly tail popped back out into ordinary legs, and he landed. The lure of learning more about living in space still outweighed the fear of appearing to be a complete dork.
Duo glanced up briefly at the flying boy, quirking a brow at the fact the kid seemed to not have any legs to speak of. Now that was different.. He nodded and picked up the pack of five pieces of paper, handing it to him. "There you go. As promised." he said. "Hey Danny."
"Hey, this is great!" Danny's expression lit up, and he changed back to Danny Fenton with two waves of white light, still holding the papers. Newly gloveless hands started to flip through the pages carefully, trying not to bend them. "These are really good! You used to live here?"
Danny wasn't even sure he could draw all of FentonWorks from memory. Then again, art wasn't really his strong suit. Or math. Or literature. Or...
To Duo, the drawings were only efficient. He had studied colony plans and shuttle system, as well as the concept of drafting, were he ever to need to cast new parts if he wasn't able to salvage. "Yeah, I used to live on that one." he replied as he gestured to the page labeled L2.
"Aaaand I wouldn't call it living.. but yeah, that's the old stomping ground." He picked up the foam colony and started scraping off some of the foam to make a more streamlined shape.
The Vampire Slayer made her way up the stairs to the roof, looking over and seeing Duo sitting on the couch. Walking over to the couch, she touched his knee with the toe of her boot several times. "Don't fall asleeeep. You'll get buuuuuurnt," Mel teased.
It was kinda awkward after what happened at the ball Belldandy had thrown, but Mel wasn't sure if Duo knew. Mel knew, and that was enough for her. So, maybe she was just the akward one.
Duo turned his head to her, tilting his head to the side to glance at her. "I lived in a desert for a year.. I don't burn." He said this, eyes closed, and lips curled into a smirk. He glanced at her, a brow knit in mild annoyance regarding the last time he'd seen her out and about. Kissing Tony? Who knew.. She musta done it as a joke to him but.. Hell..
Why did he even care? They weren't a couple anymore..
"Why the desert?" Mel asked, noticing the annoyance.
She chewed at the inside of her lip, squinting at him a little from the brightness of the early afternoon sun. She really needed to req' some sunglasses or something. The sunlight was great and all, but damn, reflecting off a light surface made her look like she ate something she didn't care for.
"If not the desert then I'd probably been shot on sight." Duo replied casually, picking up the foam piece he had cut out and started scraping off a little more to make it more streamlined. "You wanna catch lunch today or is this one of those rare opportunities to see you and I'd better make the best of it?"
