Summary: Charmy goes over to Maria's to get some flowers.
Warnings: Shadow is present. Then again, it's only two little blonds talking about flowers together.

Shadow was on-edge again, in a way Maria hadn't seen since Mephiles was here last. And of course, now the god, or half-god - Maria still wasn't quite clear on that - was here again, although in a slightly different form. She felt terrible for the other Shadow, for he must have been having an awful time, fighting a mental battle with the other who inhabited his body ( ... )

Charmy's heart pounded excitedly as the door began to open. However, once Charmy caught sight of who had opened the door, he froze in place as a black and red hedgehog gave her a look that felt as though she were not welcome. Charmy was dangerously close to panicking before she saw a taller figure, a girl who seemed to be much more welcoming than the menacing hedgehog ( ... )

Maria's smile broadened, and she laughed cheerfully at the bee's antics. "I'm so glad you like them! It seems that for some reason, just about anything I touch turns into flowers right now, so they're kind of everywhere, as you can see..."

It was refreshing, honestly, to see someone so happy about the flowers. She'd been delighted by the sudden magic of their appearance, herself, the first couple times, but it had gotten a bit wearing. Charmy's enthusiasm was too infectious to ignore, and Maria was happy once again.

Shadow wasn't so amused, although he was evidently less concerned than he had been upon the bee's appearance. He watched child's antics silently and with narrowed eyes as she spun in circles around Maria.

"What do you want," he asked, although it came across as more of a demanding statement than a question.

But Maria waved him off, beaming. "She just wanted to see the flowers, that's all!"

Charmy soon stopped her cheery path around Maria to turn her head towards the suspicious roommate. Most people would've noticed the intent of Shadow's statement as well as any malice that came with it. However, Charmy was not a regular person and had lived under the same roof of people who could barely stand her. Needless to say, the demand just flew over Charmy's head ( ... )
