People were being strange again. Ahiru didn't like it when people acted different from normal. She liked to believe that everyone was inherently good, but now people weren't acting that way and it confused her.

To try to make sense of things, she made her way outside for a walk. It seemed a good idea at the time, but that lasted until she spotted a wolf. The other wolf she'd met had turned out nice, but he'd been a wolf that was also a person, which kind of reminded her of herself in a way. This wolf, though, looked to be all wolf.

Ahiru darted behind a tree to hide and hope the wolf would pass her by.

Something had darted behind a nearby tree. At least, so Larka's ears told her. It was probably a Lera that had never seen her before and assumed that she was dangerous simply because she was a Putnar.

As if she could be a Putnar here.

With a bit of a sigh, Larka said, "You don't have to hide. Even if I was in the mood to hunt right now, the ring wouldn't allow me to harm you."

Being a trusting sort, Ahiru peered out from behind the tree to stare at the wolf. Talking animals didn't surprise her all that much. Her ballet teacher was a cat, after all. What did surprise her was how nice the wolf sounded. "Um, hello."

"Hello," Larka responded in return with a slight nod of the head. "Yes, I can communicate with humans, no, I wouldn't intend to hurt you even if I could, and if I'm the strangest Lera you've seen here, then you haven't met the Irken."

Lina was being quieter than usual. There had been a lot of chaos in the air last night, and she was in no mood to trust anyone or anything. In fact, if it hadn't been for the cuff, she would have been more likely to blast anything that moved and interrogate what was left of it, if anything. Instead, she slipped from one shadow to the other, watching warily for anything that looked dangerous or out of place.

That wolf, for example. You didn't see too many of those wandering around. She halted in mid-step and narrowed her eyes as she watched it trot by.

There was a human there, who had stopped walking as soon as she had seen Larka. A Drappa, by the looks of it, though the white Varg still wasn't quite sure exactly what humans and other species considered to be proper material for the best of their species.

She slowed and eventually paused her own walking, and turning toward the human, she asked, "Yes?"

"Oh, wow, it talks," said Lina. Talking animals weren't entirely unheard of in her world, but they were hardly something you met everyday. "Um... hi. Looking for something?"

"Yes, unlike most of my kind, I can communicate with humans," Larka replied. She was rather used to the surprise by now, but it did get old after this many moons. "And yes, I am."
