Characters: OU Saioh Takuma, OU Mao When: Afternoon-ish Where: The park Summary: A random encounter between a pair of telepaths Warnings: Nothing I know of?
The short bouts of mental interruption had pretty much stopped. Most people had settled down--or as 'settled down' as they ever did around here. He was happy for Skuld, discovering...whatever it was she did (it had something to do with the Entropi and defeating them, right?), but there was just so much math involved that it made his head spin. He needed to get some fresh air...
But then he spotted someone in the park. He didn't know who he was, and was certainly not going to poke around his mind to find out, but the presence of a crystal ball made him curious. He headed towards the person and stood silently for a moment before deciding that starting a conversation would be considerably less creepy than standing there without a word.
"So! U-uh...are you a fortune-teller? Or something?" he asked, trying to sound casual.
"Yes, that's right," he answered mildly. His expression turned thoughtful as he sized up the newcomer; there was definitely something a little unusual about him. "Among other things. May I help you?"
Mao grinned after a few short moments. A fortune-teller! He'd never actually met one! Telepaths? Sure, he was one. People who could command people to do anything they wanted? Not a problem. Immortal people? He definitely knew one. But a fortune-teller? That was definitely new, and something Mao had to see! He was someone who could see a person's past, but seeing the future...that was something else.
He took a seat across from the fortune-teller. "Mind telling my fortune?" he asked eagerly, grinning widely.
"I don't see why I shouldn't," said Saioh, privately slightly amused by the man's enthusiasm. All the odd things to see in Econtra, and he got excited about a simple card reading? He scooped his cards together and pushed them towards the stranger. "Shuffle the cards, if you would be so kind, and tell me what you want to know."
