Summary: The fireworks are interrupting Siegfried's beauty sleep, so he decides to go do something to wear himself out until he can get to sleep again.

Siegfried glided easily through the water. Even with the fireworks exploding overhead, he found the swim relaxing. It was the sort of thing he could do with his mind on autopilot.

However, that didn't mean that he was completely unaware of his surroundings. When he noticed a young lady on the shore, he swam closer to greet her. "Good evening, Fräulein."

Siegfried's grin was one of genuine amusement rather than pretended interest as the girl rambled. He resisted the temptation to stand up in the water and bow to her. No doubt that would leave her even more flustered.

"I am Siegfried von Schroider," he answered, keeping himself submerged. I apologize if I've disturbed you, Fräulein Honda. I merely thought a nice swim would tire me out enough that I could sleep through the fireworks."

Truth be told, Mosquiton was enjoying the fireworks. Staying up all night was only natural for him, and he thought it was rather nice of someone to give him something interesting to look at while he was out. The bursts of fire and light did make flight risky, though. While it was next to impossible to hurt Mosquition, he didn't fancy the idea of his nice clothes being burned up by a passing firework, so he contented himself with strolling around the grounds.

He was also pleased to know that he wasn't the only one out. It could get lonely being the only one awake at night.

"Good evening!" he called to the person - male? female? hard to tell at this distance - who was paddling around in the lake.

Siegfried paused in his swim to wave to the person on the shore. "Guten Abend!" he called back. Since it wouldn't be proper to conduct a conversation at such a distance, Siegfried started back towards the shore.

A German? That was different, at least for around here. But Mosquiton had spent enough time wandering around Europe to have picked up a smattering of most of the major languages. Four hundred years was enough time to learn quite a few languages, if you had nothing better to do.

"Pleasant night for a swim," he said in careful German.

Siegfried's expression brightened visibly at hearing someone speaking his native language. He knew several languages himself, but would always have a preference for his own. "Indeed it is," he agreed.

Even though he roomed with the annoyingly mysterious Cobweb, Siegfried didn't know enough about the Wraeththu to recognize when he was seeing one. He did however, recognize that here was someone extremely beautiful, and Siegfried appreciated beauty.

"Nein, nein. I am not disturbed," Siegfried assured the stranger. He rolled slightly in the water to float on his back and watch the fireworks for a bit. "A lovely night tonight, ja?"

"Nein, I do not know," Siegfried admitted. Normally he would be reluctant to confess a lack of knowledge. But with so many worlds represented, he supposed that he couldn't be expected to know every nuance of every culture.

Realizing that he hadn't yet introduced himself, Siegfried offered his name to the fellow on the shore. "I am Siegfreid von Schroider."
