Usagi had been a bit surprised when their conversation had gone from Ami-chan wanting to kill her to wanting to meet her at the park. But she let it slide, after all she still saw Ami-chan as her friend, not an enemy. Even if she wanted to kill Usagi, Ami-chan still was her friend. Usagi was wondering though why Ami-chan had wanted to meet her in the park so suddenly, but figured she would notice when she'd get there. At least it was an opportunity to talk to that Ami-chan in person again.

When she saw Mercury already standing at the spot where they would meet, she walked a bit faster. "Hi, Ami-chan!" She shouted - perhaps a bit too loud - and waved at the other girl, cheerfully as usual.

Econtra-formed habit had won out over amusement, and Mercury had come already transformed. There was a twinge of something deep inside her as Usagi called her Ami-chan anyway. Did she still see that girl inside Mercury now somehow? Or was it just another example of the fact she'd never paid attention? It didn't matter.

"Won't you be my opponent?" she asked. The tone was almost sweet and coaxing, but the intent was plain: a fight after all. The blue-haired senshi raised her head and gave Usagi a decidedly cruel smirk.

Usagi stopped walking when she heard that, a bit surprised. She should have expected that she would want to fight her, and yet she hadn't expected it for some reason. She didn't want to fight Ami-chan anyway, not any version of Ami-chan. Usagi had told her many times she didn't want to fight, but this Ami-chan didn't seem to care much about that.

"Ami-chan... You want to fight me?" Usagi didn't have to ask the question, the answer was obvious. Still she did, still a part of her mind didn't want to believe Ami-chan would want to fight her.

There was really no need to say more. She'd said it more than enough. Mercury only gave the other girl a perfectly cold look, raised her sword, and presented it in an attack-ready position. The senshi's face was all business now, serious and determined, nothing of her thoughts readable behind that mask.

Surely Usagi would still refuse. She was counting on that.
