The Greenhouse might have provided Persephone with some intimacy, but not so much privacy. Especially not from someone who'd come to recognise her bright orange hair. Robin opened the Greenhouse door uncertainly. "Persephone? Are you --" All right? You didn't have to be the world's greatest detective to answer that question. "What happened?"

As much as the young goddess wanted comfort right now, she had been hoping to not run into anyone she knew, the embarrassment over seeing someone as powerful as she thought was crying would be too great. In response Persephone buried her head against her knees, trying to block him out, and tearfully murmuring a, "'M fine..."

"No offence? But you don't look fine." Robin hesitated a moment longer before coming over to kneel beside Persephone. "Look, I don't know what happened ... but talking it out could help."

Well if he was going to insist... Persephone broke down into tears, sobbing hard, the plants around her wilting, leaves and petals drooping. "I-I'm no g-good at -- at being a g-goddess!" She wailed, hugging her knees tighter to her chest. And she felt it was true, really. It took so much effort to make things grow, unlike what the other gods could do. All her mother had to do was give the wheat a look and they would burst into golden stalks, all at once.

It took all of her energy just to make a tree grow -- a tree. Oh, and then the smiting thing. She couldn't really smite much either or fight or, well, defend herself in the long run. What was the point of her being here anyway, if she was so useless?

Shuko was tending to her flowers in the greenhouse. The hydrangea had now grown enough for the young plant to peek its green leaves well above the pot. The limited sunlight allowed by the windows of the apartment were hardly going to be enough. She didn't mind, though. If it meant an extra walk down to the greenhouse every day, then so be it. Besides, the place was considerably more cheerful than the rest of this place - save the park. The glass windows allowed the sunlight in, but there was still a distinct lack of open sky.

The life radiating from the surrounding flowers, though, showed they did not mind. And so Shuko was content for the time being. But the peace ironically allowed her to notice a surge of magic enter...along with an equally potent wave of sorrow. Shuko's breath hitched and her eyes widened as she recognized just what kind of magic that was. Count D had the same aura about him. A nature god (or goddess in this one's case.)

She instantly stopped what she was doing and walked over to Persephone. "My lady? What

Being addressed as such was almost embarrassing considering the event just moments before and the goddess glanced up for only a moment, hair obscuring her entire face. Because of that, Persephone couldn't see the girl standing in front of her, but she would have been surprised to be addressed as such by someone so young. Either way, she didn't feel she deserved the title of 'lady.' Persephone wasn't living up to being a goddess as much as she had believed she had -- her mother would probably be ashamed of her if she knew.

"N-nothing happened, 'm fine, I swear." The goddess bit back a fresh wave of sobs, the plants in her immediate vicinity shuddering and wilting, the life seeming to be sucked out of them at the girl's sorrow.

Shuko raised an eyebrow at that. "The plants around you are dying," she replied, moving away for a moment to pick up her hydrangea and shifting it out of the range of Persephone's sorrow. "Most unusual for their goddess if she is as untroubled as she says.

Oh gods, the plants were dying? Persephone looked up in startled surprise at the plants in her immediate vicinity and frowned deeply -- the poor things, what was she doing with them? She turned her eyes then to the other girl, studying her carefully through tear filled eyes. "I just -- bad day."

Himawari had taken to wandered as of late. She liked to wander and explore the area more and more each day. She figured being as familiar with it as possible would be wise. Today she just happened to be visiting the greenhouse. She had been meaning too for awhile now, but only now had she gotten the chance.

Examining all the flowers and plants, Himawari was impressed all this stuff had been grown by others in such a short amount of time. However the further she walked in, the closer she got to Persephone until she heard her crying. Frowning, Himawari approached the girl gingerly.

"What's the matter...?"

"N-nothing -- n-nothing is wrong..." Persephone trailed off on a small sob, shaking. There were a lot of things wrong, actually, but she didn't want to admit them to anyone else, to show more weakness than she already was doing.

Perhaps coming to the greenhouse to gain herself peace was a bad idea; she had refused to return to her apartment building so as not to disturb her roommates (though it was more like she didn't want them to see her upset) and the thought of hiding away somewhere dark with her grief made her ill -- it was too much like the Underworld.

Himawari frowned, not buying that for a second. But she wasn't nosy and if the girl didn't want to talk about it, she wouldn't press. However she did sit down beside her, deciding that she could at least keep her company until she felt better.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Himawari said gently. "Tou don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I just wanted to offer."

Things had been going well for her lately. Sonic saved her from some ghosts, she thought of the perfect birthday present for him, and even made some new friends. This wasn't the ideal place to stay, but at least nothing truly terrible had happened since her arrival. And now, to end a pleasant day, Amy was going to take in the sights at the greenhouse, since she had been hearing about people gardening.

She didn't get far into the building before she heard the sounds of someone crying. It sounded like a girl around her age wasn't having as good a time as she was. The hedgehog frowned and made her way towards the source, ready to offer whoever it was a shoulder to lean on.

"Are you okay?" It was obvious that she wasn't, but it was all Amy could think to ask the stranger.

Persephone looked up through her tears, having a hard time making out the blurry pink shape in front of her before Amy finally came into focus; the goddess' breath caught in her throat, not expecting to see something so oddly shaped, but given the appearance of one of her roommates and the little jerk she had met earlier, she got used to it rather quickly. Still, the hedgehog had startled her for a moment.

After being asked if she was fine several times already by others, the girl let out a short, hysterical laugh. Did she look fine, geez? "Oh, I'm lovely."

...Okay, so she hadn't been expecting that kind of response, but Amy wouldn't let herself get mad. This girl obviously needed someone to help her feel better and Amy hated seeing people like this.

She held her ground, standing only a few feet away from the goddess. "Do you want to talk to someone about it?"

"There's nothing to talk about," was the response that Amy received, spoken in clipped, shaking tones. The goddess pressed her cheek to the tops of her knees, fighting a valiant battle to keep the tears in, though she was loosing. At least if she could keep them in until this girl... creature left, then she would consider herself mostly victorious in her efforts.
