Summary: Persephone is rattled after her verbal smackdown with Kragok and goes to hang out in the greenhouse for lack of anywhere else to go.

It had been an embarrassing defeat, there was no way for Persephone to get around that and after having hoped into the fountain quickly to get rid of the custard on her face and clothes, the goddess had retreated to the greenhouse, preferring the intimacy it provided as opposed to her usual haunt, the park. While she wasn't physically hurt, her emotions had been jarred and she wanted a quiet place to tend her wounds; the world really was a different place here and it hadn't blossomed into life like she expected it would upon her return after learning of the creation of winter. But of course her mother didn't know she was here and that was the entire reason for it, wasn't it?
Persephone tucked knees to her chest, sitting in the farthest corner from the door, and put her head on them, crying silently. If she really was a goddess and had any sort of sway over nature, then things would look so much better here, wouldn't they? The girl had only been here two weeks and all she had managed to do was make a few flowers grow in the park. And a tree. Oh yeah, that poor little tree full of fruit she loathed and she shouldn't feel that way towards it because it could feel it, but still. Pomegranates reminded Persephone of Hades far too much to let that go, but she had still kept the one she had half-eaten in the Underworld, as some sort of macabre token.
Even if going back would mean returning to her husband, she wanted nothing more than to go back in that moment, to be in her rightful place at her mother's side and to feel the woman's arms around her in a comforting hug. Persephone was nothing more than a lost child trying to act much braver than she was and take on the world when all she wanted to do was curl up in a corner like she was doing now and cry until the world went away and nothing was left.
