Daemon kept walking until he felt the strong hand of his father grip his shoulder and plant him in place. Looks like he wasn't going to scuttle out of this one that easily. He stayed quiet, letting his father speak. What was spoken made him feel even more bitter... If only because he knew Saetan was right.

Especially since if anyone understood the misery of loss, it was Saetan. While Daemon had lost most of the family he had here, hadn't Saetan lost so much more? It wouldn't be fair to Saetan if Daemon tore his relationship with Takion apart. ...Now. He would talk to Saetan and Takion later, when everything calmed down. He couldn't help but remember when Saetan had plopped Li and himself down to talk about their relationship ( ... )

Daemon licked his lips as he headed for the exit of the Arena. While Saetan was his father, their natural intimacy towards each other always made him feel a little warmer, little more cared for. It was much better than feeling entirely alone... And he would talk to Saetan and Takion about all of this later. Daemon's heart was still too clouded with the pain of loss. Oh, Li... What Daemon would do if he could bring that beautiful male back into his life ( ... )

Alema was correct in her assumption. While he had heard many apologies from people who did nothing wrong and he had been able to embrace and kiss his father for a short moment, he hadn't simply been held and allowed to melt down. He was a Warlord Prince who was suffering a great loss. It wasn't simply just Li who he had lost. He lost Leon, his adopted son, and with Leon gone, he lost his adopted family ( ... )

Alema speaking in twi'leki had the same affect Jaenelle speaking in the Old Tongue had on him. It soothed the inner beast inside of him from the emotion of the words being said, and not the words themselves. The comfort was enough and Daemon sighed softly as he felt her stroke his hair and one of her lekku wrapped around his neck ( ... )

He stayed quiet as he let Alema vent out the anger that was spurred on by his words. At least, he thought bitterly, she understood what it meant. How many times had himself and Lucivar been asked to be in revolts to escape, yet those who asked could never understand what sacrifice everything meant? Those resistances had always fallen because when push came to shove, sacrificing everything was not an option ( ... )
