Hehe, glad I could make your day. (2005 was the scifi year for me, as that's where Transformers flashed forward to. We were really supposed to have a base on Mars by now.)

I agree about being supposed to have a base on Mars, even though I don't know Transformers. We were supposed to be exploring and colonising other planets, dammit. XD

On the other hand, the sci-fi shows never predicted how big the internet would be, or how much of an impact it would have on people's lives, or things like collectively edited, searchable, massively sprawling online encyclopedias. So some of the cool predicted things haven't happened yet, but some interesting non-predicted ones have! And I'm sure we'll get to the planets someday. ^^

It did predict way more totally immersive 3D virtual reality that would require funny suits or at least goggles, and a lot of that superficially resembles the Internet. Except with less Wikipedia and Googlestalking and more surreal action sequences and horribly unsafe biofeedback mechanisms.

wow, you're up nearly as late as me. XD

(also, totally didn't know you were 24. thought you were a lot younger (our age), for some reason. huh.)

Nope! Only just 24, and I completely spaced the idea of actually celebrating or noting this in any way, so it seems kind of odd to notice it now.

For a long time we thought you guys were older than you were. It's weird, 'cause we seem to know a lot of people who are all at about the same level of maturity mentally and all look the same age because the older ones just look young, but are actually really different ages. :3 Like the Senzas... they just look much younger than they are, and stuff. And my head sort of mishmashes it out to an average of "oh, everyone's the same age as me".

Wow, the second Youtube vid, that's FF6 in Full Metal Alchemist style. O_O;;

I've always thought the Final Fantasy series would be wonderful as anime, like Chrono Trigger or Dragon Quest.

Also, I was up until about 4AM, except that I was too busy playing Guild Wars, else I would've gone on AIM too. Ahh, bummer...

Thank you! Though do not use this post as a way to calibrate when it actually was; it was, er, on the 17th and I forgot UNTIL NOW. XD (Happy belated birthday to you, too!)

Aren't they just? I swear, I just exploded. From. Squee. It's like all my childhood hopes and dreams condensed into two minutes and uploaded to YouTube.

Aww, I had no idea. We could have celebrated for you, too.

^____^ It is!

Hee, quite all right, I had no idea either. XD XD I swear this must be something like the third year in a row I've paid little or no attention to when my birthday actually is. It just never seems to impact me as a big deal; the little things that make life exciting every day are more what I focus on.

I may or may not have screamed.

24? Wait, you has an age? I'm not sure I've ever thought of you in that context before.

Plus, it can't be 2008. That's the near-future, the one they talk about in tech magazines.

Happy much belated birthday too.

I has a flavor too! eclective March 3 2008, 15:15:47 UTC
They do that to you! I may or may not have gone "omg omg flail" and bounced in my seat.

And, hey, if you want to keep thinking of me as ageless, go right ahead. I certainly prefer the "nebulous person-construct with no real definable traits" thing.
