Maybe it's the heat...

Actually, it isn't all that hot out, maybe mid-80s today.  Maybe it's just a day for me to be zonked.  It's not like I didn't get enough sleep last night, but for some reason I'm worn out despite only being out and about for a couple-three hours this afternoon.

I ran over to the shoe store to return some shoes that the saleswoman had told me were ( Read more... )

I was a dancer for years and years. Those shoes are so incredibly fragile. They're meant to be worn on smooth wood and that's it. You get scuffs immediately.

Ahhh...who knew? Obviously not me, until today. :(

It's okay, though. Even after buying the three tops and purse, I came out ahead. And I bought four other pairs of shoes at that store this summer, so it's not like they haven't gotten *some* money out of me, right?

I'm usually not on the side of the business, but I think in this case, they would have been in the right to refuse to take them back. They can't re-sell them at that point. But I'm sure they'll get over it.

True, given what happened to the heels, but now I'm wondering if they could somehow be repaired and resold at a discount? Other than the unexpected heel wear, they were in mint condition, and the felt soles were unscathed.

Also, not to take the blame *entirely* off myself, because I obviously did screw up by buying them in the first place, but the woman who originally sold them to me told me that if I decided they just weren't going to work for whatever reason, I could bring them back at any time. Also, I'm sure she was just trying to make the sale, but she should have made it very clear that they were absolutely, positively ONLY for use on smooth wood floors. From what she told me, I thought I merely needed to minimize walking outside and stick to good pavement, but I had no idea they weren't even suitable for office carpeting or resting the heels on the floorboard while driving! :O

I'm grateful that they took them back, though, as $60 is $60.
