Actually, it isn't all that hot out, maybe mid-80s today. Maybe it's just a day for me to be zonked. It's not like I didn't get enough sleep last night, but for some reason I'm worn out despite only being out and about for a couple-three hours this afternoon.
I ran over to the shoe store to return some shoes that the saleswoman had told me were meant to be dance shoes (she said I should avoid wearing them outside unless I was walking on anything but the smoothest of pavement) I didn't realize that they were so incredibly fragile that the heels would show wear and tear from all of 500 feet of well-surfaced parking lot and sidewalk on the sole occasion on which I wore them. Actually, it took a lot less outdoor walking than that for the problem to show up, and I could swear that even walking on the office carpet was nicking up the heels, so today I brought them and a second pair of "dance shoes" (never worn) back to the store to get them taken off my credit card. The woman in customer service called the manager over, and for a moment I thought he was going to tell me tough shit about returning them because I had worn them that one time and messed them up, but he grudgingly said "go ahead" and told me that they weren't meant to be worn outside at all (would have been nice if the first saleswoman had told me that). He was actually rather snotty about the whole thing, which is pretty funny because it's a DISCOUNT store, not a high-falutin' shoe boutique.
Anyway...after that I went to the mall and got a white clutch purse for my mom's wedding, at her insistence. I hate teeny tiny purses. I normally lug so much stuff around with me that it's hard to pare down to the basics. It's probably the only time I'll ever use it, but at least it was 50% off. While I was walking through the store I spotted a gorgeous turquoise shrug and thought, "Why not?" I wear my white one so much that half the time it's in the wash. While I was at it I picked up a black shrug as well, and a shocking pink notched-neck tank. Yeah, I'm into solid colors this year. It's easy to mix and match them. All of this stuff was deeply discounted as well, it being clearance time (and likely a Fourth of July sale as well), so I escaped for less than $75. I think I've FINALLY completed my summer wardrobe, although I did sigh longingly over a couple of other things even as I was walking out of the store. I don't know when and how I became such a spendthrift, LOL!
Aaaannnnddd...I guess it's no wonder that I'm tired after all that!
