Part 9!
CUDDY: Thank you. For everything.
HOUSE: You're welcome. For everything.
CUDDY: I'll see you tomorrow. I really do have to leave.
HOUSE: I know.
CUDDY: Then what's the problem?
HOUSE: This isn't going to work.
--
CUDDY: That's it? You can't just say that and shut up.
HOUSE: It's just a statement of fact it's not a debatable proposition.
CUDDY: Right, because you can see the future.
HOUSE: No, but I can see the past. And you're going to remember all the horrible things I've done and try to convince yourself that I've changed. And I'm going to start doing those horrible things again because I haven't changed. And then you will realize that I am an insane choice for someone who has a kid. And from there it's a short step to the inevitable conclusion that all of this was a mistake. Tell me any of that isn't true.
Superficial first: I love the little smiles when they're saying good-bye. So cute. Also -- more doorway imagery! They're on the same side of a closed door.
Oh, House. Oh, miserable, self-pitying, fucked-up House. At least he faces her in the second half of the scene. He thinks it's going to be her that's going to leave because, well, that's his experience. He's vindaloo curry, he's afraid to be happy, he's the one everyone else has to keep from collapsing. Nothing in what he says is his problems with her; they're her problems with him. And he thinks about Rachel because he knows Cuddy will think about Rachel and he knows he'll lose if Cuddy ever feels she has to make a choice.
These two characters in a room. It's all I ask for this season and we got an entire episode of it. This season's going to be great. Scary and crazy and funny and sexy and great.
CHASE: [to New PA] You're going to be up late. Next time, avoid responsibility. [to 13] Cake? Taub thought we should have a little party to see you off properly. He gets sentimental about these things.
13: I never should have flashed him.
CHASE: Speaking of which, earlier today I asked you about having sex. You gave me a look that almost certainly could only mean no. On the other hand, I would be remiss if I didn't follow-up and confirm. See? It's the same look. So if it didn't mean no the first time then--
13: No, no, no, no, no.
CHASE: No pressure.
13: Does that method ever work?
CHASE: At least once. I'm, um, getting mixed signals.
13: See you at the cake.
Heh, Taub & 13. Never not enjoyable.
13, I'd like to introduce you to Robin of HIMYM and the Seventeen Nos. It does not mean what you think it means.
If this is what Chase is going to be like all season, I am going to enjoy it very much. Confidence is sexy. As are witty comments. "I'm getting mixed signals." LOVE.
COME BACK SOON, 13! Miss you already.
FINAL PART!!!
