PART 10!  FINAL PART!!!!  YAY!

CUDDY: The only time you're afraid is when you're happy.  You just don't expect it to last.
HOUSE: Because it doesn't.
CUDDY: You don't know that.
HOUSE: I've done horrible things to you.  And I'll do horrible things again, to you.  Because of one stupid moment with a dying girl in a pile of rubble, you think I can change.  Tell me where I'm wrong.
CUDDY: I don't want you to change.  I know you're screwed up.  I know you are always going to be screwed up.  But you're the most incredible man I've ever known.  You are always going to be the most incredible man I have ever known.  So unless you're breaking up with me, I am going home now.
HOUSE: I love you.

Let's hold hands on the way down.

This is an amazing scene.  Amazing scene.  They know each other so well.  This is such an emotional scene and they're curled up on the couch, speaking softly.  He is scared, because he thinks he's going to wake up.  Or, really, that Cuddy's going to wake up so he shouldn't get too attached to the idea of "them."

"Because of one stupid moment with a dying girl in a pile of rubble" -- I used this quote in my pic-cap (? :D) for Help Me and I'm pulling it out again here: "All precious things discovered late / to those that seek them issue forth / for Love in sequel works with Fate / and draws the veil from hidden worth."  "[F]or Love in sequel works with Fate."  They were lucky that night.  That whole night led them to this; they were isolated, on edge; they fought about the actual things they needed to fight about; they thought they were losing each other and had to be reminded that life was short.  Cuddy had been wrestling with her feelings all season (even though House didn't know that, because even though he knows so much about her I don't think he even wanted to risk thinking that last year) and that night was just the final straw.  Him being so open about his leg?  Only one in a long line of reasons why she needed to leave.

"Tell me where I'm wrong."  The whole episode has been hinting at UMS, hasn't it?  Little things, little nods.  For once, House does not say this arrogantly or confidently.  He always knows the answers and even though he thinks he knows the answer, he wants to be wrong.  He needs to be wrong.

"I don't want you to change."  Thank you, Show, for this.
She has never wanted him to change.  She's wanted him to open up, but he's done that.  Look!  He's doing it now, in this scene!  She knows he's screwed up, she knows all his faults, but she knows him and she wants him.  He needs to trust that, trust her, and that is something he can do, has done, and can keep doing. (LE said recently that he trusts her completely and it's true).

YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE THE MOST INCREDIBLE MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN.  The music starts up after this line.  He can always tell when she lies?  She's not lying now and he knows that.  How did we even get here from the pilot?  This was so unfathomable then and yet it just makes sense now.  I will never stop loving the fact that they can finally be honest about how they feel about each other.  And  I will never stop loving that we get scenes like this because they just hit these scenes out of the park.

He looks up when she says "unless you're breaking up with me."  He doesn't want to break up with her.  He doesn't want to let her go.  I love this entire sequence; how she scoots forward and grabs his hand; the soft kiss; her little sniffle as she gets up.  He just grips her fingers -- yet another focus on their hands; I love that.  She's afraid that he actually is going to break up with her, I think, but she still stands there.
I love you.  He said it.  I didn't think he was going to say it.  And he's so unbelievably terrified.  And she might be surprised that he said it, but she's not surprised by the sentiment.  She sighs, relieved, and she smiles.  The lyrics to the song only come in after she smiles.  I love that so, so much.  They keep the tradition of having the most important scenes for them be lyric-less scenes.

FOREMAN: She's been lying to us all day.
CHASE: Well, have you tried--
FOREMAN: Both her phone lines have been disconnected.  She's just gone.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!  Oh, the cut from the last heavy, emotional I LOVE YOU (doesn't get old) scene to the cake?  Funniest thing.  LOVE THIS.  Oh, Taub, this is as much sentimentality as you, 13, and, well, anyone in that room could handle, isn't it.  It's the very least he could possibly do: whatever's left at the bakery.  SO amusing.

Taub gets it right away.  Chase, because he's Chase, thinks there are other options.  COME BACK SOON, 13!  Not that I blame you because, well, it's Harrison Ford.  Totally understandable.

And the song choice is still getting to me.  Amazing.

CUDDY: It's going to be great.
HOUSE: Yeah.

"Just a good day."  Oh, their smiles.  I love their smiles.  His smile, third row center?  And last row, far left?  Wow.  They're happy; this is so rare for both of them.  And door imagery again!  They're framed by the doorway, but they're together on one side of an open door like they were in the beginning of the episode.  And then they're on either side of a closed door, which is when they start to get nervous.

And yes, they're scared.  And yes, it's scary.  They jumped off a cliff, of course it's scary.

NOW WHAT?!  Now it's GAME. ON.  I was waiting for this scene, and we got it, and because I was waiting for it, it didn't really worry me.  Them being aware of the gravity of what they're doing?  Is good for all of us.  The next step is to probably show more of that unease to each other (and/or WIlson because, yeah, "who needs couples counseling when they've got Wilson?"), but the fact that they made the same faces at the same time?  Is a good thing.  They're doing this, because they can't not do it anymore, but it doesn't mean that it's going to be easy or that they shouldn't be scared.  What they're doing is a SERIOUS THING, a very scary thing.  Their relationship was already so important to both of them and now they've just ratcheted that up a few thousand notches.

But they're on the same team now and I prefer that.  If this season is anything like this episode?  Amazing times ahead.

Final word check: puke, anus, pee, poop, love :D
Final game check: chess; fing, fong, fooey; Boggle/word search
