you know, you're right about a lot of things -- it's nice to be able to move wherever you want, people are getting married later, and there's a lot of divorce these days.

but i think that if you really know yourself, and your partner, and you commit to having the best marriage you can, to communicating and working things out - it can work. i for one have to believe in that. my parents did really, really well for 32 years; if my mother hadn't decided to run, they'd still be doing well. my grandparents have been married over 50 years; so have matthew's grandparents; his parents have been married for about 25.

marriage should *not* be entered into lightly, and there is *nothing* wrong with being single. at all. so don't take me the wrong way. but i have to believe in love... and that porter and robin can make it work, and so can matthew and i :)

I don't necessarily think that's a negative note, chica...I'd say that's probably a positive change in thinking because there's certainly no reason to get married just to get married. Of course, there's nothing wrong with getting married either, and I still believe that 2 mature, open-communicating people can make it work, but the most important thing is really being able to love yourself, with or without a partner. Paradoxically, the people who can really truly love themselves on their own are the ones who end up in sucessful, fulfillling partnerships. So keep your head up, and keep on loving yourself, cuz you're amazing!
