A friend of mine who works for BioWare in Canada, Jennifer Hepler, has become the target of a massive, coordinated hate and harassment campaign, probably organized by the same losers and shit-for-brains who perpetrated the harassment against caprine and me over "LOL Together". Why? Because she had the temerity to suggest that games might want to include

I think your friend is quite right--I'd like to have been able to skip over plenty combat sequences in favor of the lore/story line at hand (although City Of at least has story related bits of dialogue in their cut-scenes/sequences, which I do find myself liking...)

I swear, those people are just flexing what one of my preferred radio dj's called 'keyboard muscles'. Bleh.

There is no assurance of freedom of speech in a person's journal. It's THEIR house. Anyone wants to invoke "freedom of speech", remind them you're not the government.

There have been many times in games where I would've liked to have skipped a particular combat and focus on the story. I've certainly used it in games where it existed.

And this attack nonsense drives me nuts. Argh. Sorry your friend is going through such awful unfair attacks.

I read about that and I think it is not just that people are jerks on the internet, but the really intense sexism that pervades geekdom...and espeically video game geekdom. Tell Jennifer Helper that there are people who side with her
