Part of where I'm going is knowing where I'm coming from.

My dad is basically driving me crazy with this whole car situation, no pun intended. We have gone to look at cars no less than three times since I found out that I have this job. Every time, he hems and haws and bullshits with the salesman before walking away. I’m like, you know, I’m paying for the fucking thing, why can’t I just go and buy it ( Read more... )

Me too! Sounds like a plan to me. Want to move to Chicago?

It's a great city, although I'm biased. I already have a job there, so we're halfway there! ♥

I sympathize. I love my parents, but I can't live with them anymore. We'd kill each other within a week because we'd be invading each other's personal space all the time.

I feel the same way. It's like my dad, especially, hasn't realized that I'm going to be 26 in a few days!

Yeah, I'm always 16 when I'm home, no matter how old I get. This is going to be really depressing when I'm 35, I just know it.

At least you're that old! I'm somewhere around seven. Yeah, it's going to be depressing when I'm 30 and probably still living here, sigh.

congratulations on the shoes! they sound spiffy

is the discount through your dad such a major factor that you can't just go out, buy a car and drive it home? I mean, if your credit is decent, you can find a vehicle you like/want and can afford - without the discount - why not just do it, and avoid his dithering and delays. especially if the car will be in his name, even if you're making the payments - that won't do anything for *your* credit, and leaves the vulnerability of becoming carless if something weird happens down the line.

I get that they're concerned, but you're an adult, and deserve the opportunity for alone time - especially since you may well want to sit around en dishabille reading smutty novels, and that's just not something mom or dad really wants to walk in on.

there's some stuff that just shouldn't be shared between adult generations. (I still have nightmares about my mom going through my porn while helping me recuperate 3 years ago)

Thanks! They are.

Yes, it was. My dad got like $5000 knocked off. I probably should've just bought the car without him, but I ended up getting one today anyway. It's in his name right now, but in six months, we're transfering the title to me, so that's good.

Thank you! I really do need that alone time and I really don't want them to know that I'm reading gay porn online, ha.

I agree! Oh, man. *hugs*

wow - $5,000 is a major discount! I'm glad things worked out and you found one today. now you can tell us all about and maybe provide pictures?

gay porn is serious, yo! but probably not something the folks need to know. possibly you can put up a tasteful DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, for those moments you really need some 'alone time' ?

Totally! Thank you. I updated about it and I'm going to post pictures soon.

True! Exactly. I might do that. Or just remember to lock my damned door.
