And the Beat Goes On? Keep Moving, Keep Moving Right On

[[Forward/Back/Whatever dated to after the EBA explains stuff to him]]

[private: hard]This isn’t a dream. Manhattan is under attack. Three big monsters, lots of crabs. Fictional characters are real. There are talking animals. Other kinds of people too. Everyone comes from different points in time. Morris, the earliest of the group. Me, one ( Read more... )

keeping an eye on the horizon, use a pow block right?, not that kind of secret agent, on duty, listen to the backbeat, trying to be social?

Yep, but you'll wanna even the odds with some good ol' fashioned tool use. People used to be able to bash their heads in with bats n' stuff, but you'll probably want something with more force against the tougher ones nowadays. Sledgehammers if you can swing 'em fast enough, edged clubs that might split the carapace, picks n' warhammers that're made to pierce armor anyway (though you'd need to be able to pull 'em out after the hit), maybe a crossbow if you can get enough ammo, a heavy-duty gun...

My fave's pepper spray. Leaves 'em squirming, gives you plenty of time to run, light, easy to use. Might also try exploiting stink bombs or other kinds of smells. They don't seem to like those either.

That tough?

... Seems like what I know won't work. If bats are no good, neither is a straightstick.

Well, they kinda work, but you need to hit 'em more to bring 'em down that way. You could go with some kinda halberd, too. Either way, my recommendation's pepper spray. Get some hot sauce n' a few other ingredients into a spray bottle, let 'er rip.

Hot sauce?

Don't suppose they have a peanut allergy too.

I'd take MacGyver's advice, especially with the pepper spray. I personally stick with a shotgun and a P90, and it's wise to bring a friend when you go out. Easier to defend yourself and you're less likely to get attacked in the first place. (Only marginally less, but still.)

Did you find your friends alright?

(OOC: Did you guys ever have a meeting thread? ^^ Also, I do not know where Tim (Kirk-mun) went. :| Phoo. But we shall make sure to get that thread going when he gets back!)

Don't think the others would let me go out by myself. And, looks like pepper spray is the best option at the moment.

Eventually. Once I figured out which café I was at.

Call me Derek.

[[ooc: No, and it's up in the air whether we will or not. =| I'm up for continuing the thread when Tim gets back. Derek was just about to dismiss everything as a dream because it started to get past EBA standard strange.]]

Well, sounds like you have good people watching out for you, then. Talk to MacGyver about where to get the best supplies of pepper spray, although Havoc's probably has plenty.

Good to hear.

[Screened to Derek]

Nice to meet you, Derek. Call me Daniel.

(OOC: Eh, no worries. I take it Derek is duly satisfied in Daniel's credentials now. ;) He's still at least partially oblivious to Derek's initial suspicion of him. And LOL! I suppose a talking mouse would do that to you, yes. XD)

Yeah.

MacGyver said something about hot sauce, spray bottle, and other stuff.

[screened to Daniel]

Same.

[[ooc: The others' word is good enough for him, and he got to see some of it first hand in the unscreened parts of J's latest entry. =) And it wasn't just Pinky, but he was just about the last straw. Manhattan, the silence, not to mention talking to Kirk from Star Trek... Though, Derek's smart enough not to mention that last part to Kirk. XD]]

Blades are good, too. Try to aim for the joints; they're weaker.

... Didn't think about joints. I avoided hitting those areas.

There's a place called Havoc Sundries with pretty much any weapon you can think of, near 2nd and 23rd.

Thanks, I'll remember that.
