You were missed at bicon. We have a bicon lion for you if you haven't been offered one already. I know it's no replacement for being there but hopefully a reminder that your lack of presence there was as significant as your presence. Hope to see you soon and hope you feel better sooner. Will try to get in touch over the next few days. Are you aware of poly day in a couple of weekends? Gentle hugs from us both.

o! a bicon lion!?! i shall look forward ot that, i think... =wriggles eyebrows=

yes, get in touch when you've arrived here again - it'd be good to see yous =smile=

yes, aware of polyday, thanks, tho not yet sure whether i willl be attending any of it - i was origianlly not going to cos i find the venue challenging, i've been rethinking ot try since my friday night plans changed, and cos of some people who will be around, but it will depend upon my resources (and the lift working), and the sunday depends on the venue the organisers use - they originally inteded teh saturday venue for sunday too, but i think that's not happening and the alternate one they have been planning to has stairs and no lift, and i think parking might also be problematic. there has been correspondance about making that different, but i don't think that's gone/going anywhere now. so =shrug=

i'm sorry that the organisers haven't managed to find a completely suitable venue for you. Have you aired your issues to them? Your presence at these events is a significant reason i attend and you would be missed if you didn't attend. Is there anything i or others can do to help?

I really liked catching up with your art :). The stones ones really touch me in a way I can't quite figure out. I like what sei531 said above about them being comforting...it is something like that for me, a bit like the sensation of picking up a nice smooth stone and holding it in your hand/slipping it in and out of your pocket. Or a bit like lying on a big laying-down standing stone (have forgotten what they're called- dolmens? menhirs?) in the sun. I often sleep with a big chunk of rose quartz on my chest, and these paintings give me a similar feeling. Grounding, somehow.

Ohhh, nice icon! I do like a good stone, as you know :) and it's lovely to see what's presumably the inspiration for the picture, and make the links between the physicality of that and the way the picture feels....

I did see, and really enjoyed, the retablos post, it really got me thinking and reflecting - I think I wrote a comment to it and then didn't post it, about stuff I've been making recently around/to/as a way of building connections with various guardians/deities, and the way your post helped me articulate the way this works for me (I must post a photo of my Isis shawl, I've been meaning to do so for ages and I think you'd like it). What really struck me from your post was that I'd want to make my own retablos, kind of as a way of consolidating/strengthening those connections for myself. I would really like to find out more about, and go see, some retablos, I think- I should have a wander about online, as I've not actually seen one yet!

=nods= i can understand the making your own retablos. i can see benefits to both - making ones own, and also the commisisoning someone else. both slightly different processes/relationships. i've enjoyed painting things relating ot seasons and spirituality for ritual purpose. also for more simple celebratory purpose. different again =smile ( ... )
