Getting a job doesn't mean you're wasting your life. You just need to get a job that you enjoy. Maybe it takes up a lot of your time, but you like what you're doing, so then it's OK.

All the stuff I enjoy kind of dead ended... I should have listened to my job counciler in high school and become an accountant or something. ;)

That's the tricky part... I've seen people get into a dead end job and then they get stuck and never escape... I know it's partially irrational, but I still wish to tread carefully. :)
