I have had a horrible sinus infection beginning right before Christmas, so I have been sort of absent in the kitchen area for awhile. This onion stayed hidden among the pottery and was not noticed until it started sprouting a top from behind the butterfly bowl. It’s been this way almost two weeks now and still growing. That is the work of Debra Mazzei, an amazing potter who displays at my gallery, Island Gallery West. Her work is constantly evolving and every piece is unique. From left to right is her pottery, too (my house is filled with it) garlic keeper, olive oil vessel and herb jar.

Thank you very much!
This thing is still hanging on with a cough that won't go away. But I do feel so much better than I did.

Are you going to plant out that onion come spring time?

Lovely pottery.

Bah on the infection. Are you getting better now?

I'm not sure if I'll plant outside or not. But since I posted this picture, it has more than doubled in height! The actual onion is drying/shriveling up so the top must be getting all it's nourishment and energy from there.

Infection is still hanging on with a cough, but I feel so much better.

Thank you!

I hadn't considered planting it in a pot and keeping it there. I just might do that!
