It's good to read that you are out of the storm--with little serious harm--and are back to photography of your lovely slice of earth and the resident winged ones. Great photo.
I got some nice color photos at the Oasis that I'm working on, too. A wood stork and a Great Egret flew in, there was a Spoonbill there, too, plus lots of Ibis and various ducks.
I really like it, too. I was thinking this might be a good one to hand paint, but I don't think it would look better than this infrared. I am definitely getting this one printed.
Hey... another thing you can do when you come down next month... Had you thought about riding the trolley around the Island? A great way to see most of it at your leisure and take up a good part of the day.
I am a big fan of infrared. It gives such an other-worldly look to things. I got some nice color pictures that I'm still working on of the birds that flew in, too. Happy autumn to you, too. We won't feel our cooler weather until well into November.
I love the picture, Kathy. It looks very old-timey.
I re-added your journal today while out with Mary. I've gone through an upheaval here at LJ! I renamed kyana to blueberryscone and then to justapostcard (which it is now.). Somewhere along the line, I lost your journal. So I hope you'll have me back... I was withdrawing so much from LJ but now I feel rejuvenated. I hope it lasts.
Thank you, Nancy! Somehow I missed your comment here and just now saw it. Of course I'll have you back...with open arms! I understand about withdrawing. Seems I do it more and more frequently . . . with LJ and life in general. I come back, too, but as I get older (or something) it gets harder and takes longer. Sometimes it doesn't take much . . . and I'm gone again.

The infrared effect is interesting. I love the big birds who always seem to pose for you. Happy autumnal equinox.
