fishing shanty on the Suwannee

Today I decided to work a little bit on the pictures I took on the trip to Suwannee earlier this year with Debra. Here is one of a well-known little fishing shanty and boat dock. From what I heard, it is popular among photographers and painters. I almost didn't take my Infrared camera with me on the boat that day, but at the last minute I ( Read more... )

That sure is an authentic fishing shanty!

I like the idea of that small group. You can see and hear everyone. And to think you were actually seated IN the old vault area! The meal sounds delicious.

Pete and I are always happier to go out in a small group for that reason. You can't really talk or hear with a large group in a noisy restaurant.

There were a lot of fishing shanties and docks along the Suwannee, but this one caught my eye the most. I'm trying to find out the history of it from Debra's husband who grew up there. I guess it was there when he was a kid and he's 60 now.

Yes, I think we are on the same page about smaller groups being better.

The fishing shanty and boat dock look very authentic. It would be good to find out the history, and I hope you can!

The IR camera did a good job on that photo. It sets the mood so well on that old fishing shanty, reflections and the sun.

LOL, thought it was funny that you were seated in the old vault. Your entry sounded delicious. I crave fresh seafood. It's been too long since I've been to the beach.

Yes, I agree about the IR photos. Like almost looking at another world.

I love seafood....any kind, fixed any way, as long as it is fresh.

That photo absolutely DRIPS ambiance, evoking feelings of timelessness.

Your dinner excursion sounds delightful. Sounds pretty darned nummy, too.

That IR camera always trips me out, but the images are awesome in their own way.

Yes, trips me out, too! You can kind of know what you might get, but often it just turns out completely different from what you thought it would look like....sometimes worse and sometimes even better.

Oh, I can drool and drool over any fresh seafood! I could eat it everyday and not tire of it.

Glad you like the picture. I want to eventually do a series of photos along with a story of Suwannee and "old Florida."
