My rainy day adventures . . .

Jun 06, 2016 17:03

I love the sunshiny days, but I like the rain and dark overcast days, too. I took a few shots in our back yard as soon as I got up this morning, then I decided to get in the car and drive around to some of my favorite places. I didn’t get to all of them because the rain was coming down in buckets and I was afraid I would get stuck or stranded on ( Read more... )

You do a good job taking photos in the rain. There's a lot of high water there. The duck seems fine with the rain but the snowy egret does look like he would like some shelter.
Stay safe!

Thank you. I love going out when it rains because no one else does and so I'm pretty much alone...which I like.

That's quite the wild-weather adventure you've recorded there. All while most folks were busy battening the hatches and hunkering down.

Ha! Thanks! I leave the "battening the hatches" to Pete...Heck, I want to get out there and see what's going on.

Wonderful photos - love the mood set by them. Your rain must be from the hurricane I am hearing about? We were getting some rain here lately but it probably had nothing to do with the heavy rains you are getting. You were brave to go out in it!

It's not a hurricane it's Tropical Storm Colin. :)) No, I don't think your rain and ours are connected.

I don't even think of being brave, I just love being out in that kind of weather. Today, someone actually called me intrepid. I had to look the word up...I didn't know what it meant. I thought it meant stupid or something like that.

You are intrepid when it comes to getting out there alone and getting photos. I admire you for it.

Such wonderful photos!

I love photographs of the rain, but I never seem to take any, probably because I'm too worried about getting the camera wet. I can see I should be more adventurous!

I do have a plastic shield like a bag that I can fit over the camera leaving only the lens uncovered. But I didn't have it on yesterday and most of the pictures I took from the car. Some with the windows down, but most of the time it was raining too hard so the photos are through foggy rain-dropped glass.

Thank you!

You had rain like we had!

Great weather for ducks. Some of your other birds didn't look so comfortable.

And like us, you had a high tide at the same time and high rivers!

Yes, great weather for ducks....that Muscovy was loving it, I think.

I didn't go back out at high tide, but I bet that sea wall at the boat basin was overflowing. It was almost to the top when I was there and it wasn't even high tide for two more hours!

I love that so much of your weather and my weather is either the exact opposite or just the same. Strange how that happens.

Yes, that Muscovy duck didn't look perturbed at all :)

Yeah, we had high tides AND rivers flooding at the same time AS WELL as the sea being pushed up to much higher levels along the shore, so there was a lot of flooding and erosion. I wonder what happened when high tide came over near you?

Yes, it's funny how much our weather is the same or opposite.
