I love the sunshiny days, but I like the rain and dark overcast days, too. I took a few shots in our back yard as soon as I got up this morning, then I decided to get in the car and drive around to some of my favorite places. I didn’t get to all of them because the rain was coming down in buckets and I was afraid I would get stuck or stranded on flooded roads. Winds were coming in gusts and tree branches were all over the place, too.
Palma Sola Botanical Park was my first stop. I could see cars parked along the road and the parking lot was full. There was a wedding going on! They usually hold them outside, but that wasn’t happening today. They have a large galleria there, and as I drove around the circular drive I saw the bride in her long white gown and could hear everyone laughing and talking, having a good time. I was glad they weren’t going to let the storm and rain spoil their day.
Next stop was Robinson Preserve. In the parking lot: one car, a county truck and an egret. I bet he was thinking, “Where is everybody!”
More random pictures as I drove around…Palma Sola Boat Basin, some local back roads, Cimmaron.
When I got home around 11:00, I saw that the gallery was closed today . . . most of the island roads are underwater! Skyway Bridge also closed.
