Big Bird found a new friend . . .

Remember I said I was going to Debra’s the other day to watch her throw at the wheel and photograph the peacocks. Well, while I was there Big Bird (that's what Debra calls him), the alpha male, would not stay away from my car. He saw his reflection and was rubbing, kissing, stretching his feet up on it. He made a royal dusty mess on both sides

they were too buzy yelling at the reflections
instead of each other

Someone said, "...but you're confusing the poor bird." I felt like saying back to them, "So we should do away with window glass, water, cars and all things shiny?" No reply.

Yes, to put it mildly! I've been out there a few more times since and Big Bird simply cannot stay away from that mirror. On the grounds there are also three other males, but only one Big Bird alpha male. The three others have kept their distance from the mirror. Such interesting behavior.

Thank you so much! I mentioned above to puddleshark there are three other males on the grounds, but Big Bird is the grand king it seems. The other three skirt around the mirror, even when he is not present at it.
