papa's and beer

I am feeling better today and this is the last day of my antibiotics. I've still got some congestion, but not too much. One thing that still concerns me is I have not regained my taste or smell. Every once in a while I'll get a scant little taste, but it only lasts about 5-10 seconds and then it is gone and nothing. And not having the sense of ( Read more... )

I'm glad you are on the mend. I hope your sense of smell and taste come back soon. It would be hard to cook without being able to test taste things! Perhaps you can get Pete to do that in the meantime.

Hooray for progress on your website! That's nice a friend is helping you with it.

The stained glass sign came out very well. By the sounds of it you have made it very strong. I'm glad your customers loved it :)

Keep resting and you will feel way better with a new haircut!

I am excited about having a website. It's like a new reinvention of myself...going off in another direction. I'm hoping once it is all set up and running, it will make my life easier and less stress.

Yes, I was very pleased with how it turned out and they were, too.

Yes, a haircut really does make me feel better. My hair grows so fast and when it gets to a certain stage, it is like dragging me down.

This thing about no taste or smell is so aggravating. I find myself not even wanting to cook, so Pete has taken over a lot more than he ever did in the kitchen.

Hope you are feeling better soon - being robbed of your taste and sense of smell must be really difficult for you.

The stained glass is fab - I bet they were over the moon :-)

It IS so aggravating to not be able to taste and smell. I'm hungry and want to eat, but not being able to taste takes all the enjoyment out of it and I can only imagine what it must taste like. I'm finding myself going more for textures now and not taste. It's strange and neat, too, how we adapt to whatever situation is dealt us.

Thanks on the glass. The couple both said they'd never had anything like this before and it was more than they'd ever envisioned in the beginning.

I did get some probiotics and need to start taking them pronto, I know. The drink you mentioned the other day sounds delicious. I love ginger and am going to try it soon, so now I need to get some fresh ginger.

Thanks on the sign.

Glad you've started feeling better. Just keep taking good care of yourself and you'll keep improving every day. This is an affirmation.

The sign looks terrific. How could anyone NOT like everything about it? As per usual ... Good job, Kathy!

Oh, me, too!!! I'm taking your affirmation as gospel, my friend.

Thanks on the sign. It was a fun project, but I'm glad it is over and I'm on to new things.

You sense of taste & smell will return, sinus issues mess them up for awhile. I know that last year I couldn't smell lily of the valley due to sinus/allergy issues. This year I could.
The sign turned out really well. I do admire your work.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I have lost taste/smell before, but only for a day or two. This is absolutely the worst sinus infection I've ever had so it stands to reason it will take longer to recover. Oh, how strange about not being able to smell lily of the valley before, but now this year you can. I love lily of the valley. We had it abundantly in PA and I tried to bring some down here to Florida one year, but it just couldn't make it...too hot and I guess they need a cold winter, too.

Thanks on the window sign.
