The water is very clear close to the bank where it's shallow, and when the sun is hitting it just right it is easy to see the bottom. Six feet out and it starts to murk up a bit.
I love all of your shots!asucculentlifeJuly 22 2008, 03:05:57 UTC
What gorgeous photography! So sharp and clear...love the water ripples, and the green backed heron's legs! How cool! I love trip to places where you can see such variety of wild and plant life!

Thank you. I also love the nature places. They never disappoint. Even when I think I've see it all at a particular spot, something new always seems to appear.
But....sometimes, when you least expect it, just driving down the street you see something wonderful. . . like those sandhill cranes. What a surprise that was!
What beautiful photography! What kind of camera do you have and are you a professional photographer?
I used to have a male mallard when I was a child, my dad was a railroad engineer and the train killed a mama duck and left her ducklings, which dad brought home. Daffy was so tame, he chased cars just like our dog (actually I think he thought he WAS a dog). Thank you for sharing, the pictures brightened my night!
Thank you. I am not a professional photographer, just someone who loves nature and has learned to observe. I used to pass so many things by before I got a camera two years ago. I just learned by trial and error how to use the camera and take decent pictures. I take it with me almost everywhere. I have a little Kodak EasyShare DX7590.
How hilarious is that? A duck chasing a car like a dog. What a sight that must have been.
