"Uh huh," says the tall lanky nerd, not looking up from the small silver form that's sitting on the table in front of him intently looking at a picture book. There's no sign that he's actually heard Ron.

Ron blinked, then scowled and walked over, snatching the book and slamming it closed on the table.

"NOW. You need to oversee its freezing and start work imediatly. This isn't a request, Fred, it's a matter of National security."

Fred's usually mild grey eyes flash in a way that the other man has seen only once as the little robot begins to cry. There is danger in that look, though he's pressing the button that will call Kashi's mother to come and get him.

Ron leaned close and glared as a 6 ft tall gray bot that was once a motorbike hurried in, frowning up at the army men and going to collect the littler bot. "Now. We have to go. You of all people know how fast these things move."

"Shhh," says Fred softly in English, hopping up on the platform to lay his hands over her chest where he knows her lifelight will be. "Just take it easy and let it thaw. I know liquid nitrogen hurts. Shhh."

His hands are burning from the cold and he takes them away to put them in his armpits till the feeling returns to them, then puts them back on her chest. "(I'm here. You're not alone. Family is here,)" he adds in his painfully slow NBE.

She twitched and struggled, the ice chipping off slowly as it melted. Behind them Ron ordered the temperature turned up to speed the process.

As soon as her vocalizers defrosted she let out a small growl/moan.

"Don't... hurt the humans... my #%^," she shuddered as the feeling returned to the wound in her side, optics closing. Ron tentively approached.

"Is she hostile?" he asked, only hearing a low murmur from the robot.

"Some of the others did," says Fred gently in English, taking a space heater that one of the men brought and setting it so that the heat flows over her comfortingly. "So the guys thought you were going to, too."

She groaned, then struggled weakly at the bonds that still held her down to the table. Ron frowned, then ordered the ties taken off. Soldiers quickly released her, then leapt back as she slowly rolled over, grabbing the heater and curling around it, spasming slightly as her side sparked and crackled. Arcee hissed in pain.

"Decepticons...." she said softly, optics opening again to look around uncertainly. "Where am I?"

"Ze, put a sock in it." Fred gives him a warning look.

"The Life Box?" Arcee turned on him, then rose. "Take me to it."

"Seriously I-" Ze stopped at the looked at big bot was giving him. "Um, ok," he turned and took off. Arcee thundered through the doors and down the hall after him, but Ron and the room's soldiers were right behind them.

"STOP!" Ron roared, furious. "Ze, if you don't stop RIGHT NOW-"

His words were cut off as he skidded around a tight corner.

"Oh crumbshe'sgonnagetsnuffedohcrumbsohcrumbs." Fred shoots after them, praying frantically.

Danielle walks under the Cube, tracing a glyph with her finger, then looks toward the door with a frown as Birk stiffens and birks a warning.

Arcee skidded in, then stopped and stared up at the cube. The moment of awe was broken when the cube let out a spark that hit her in the chest, causing her to shudder, then sigh in relief as every problem with her twitched, then rebuilt itself.

Ron burst in, and quickly all soldiers were crouching, weapons out.

"Freeze, alien, you're not cleared to be in here!" he thundered.

Ze let out a small eep and ran behind the cube. Arcee, meanwhile, mearely stretched and glared at them.

"Whaaat?" Fred drops Ze on his head.

Danielle frowns.

"The Decepticons will come for him. Whatever happened in the ice with you, Seargent, will be nothing compared to what happens if he awakens here. You won't be able to stop him. I won't be able to stop him. We need to destroy his spark before his followers attack the base and reawaken him," she said, dead serious.

Ron stared.

"Dude...." Ze trembled.

"Sergent Naliboff wasn't there," says Danielle. "It happened before his time. But it's been well recorded that NBE1 is hostile. And you've come across as a lot friendlier."

"Kill him in his sleep?" Fred looks sick.

"But... if what she says is true... Doc, what about Kashi? He'd hurt him, too," Ze tugged urgently at his shirt.

"Sir! We've just lost all communications with.... um.... everyone!" a soldier ran in, then gaped and took a step back when he saw Arcee.

Arcee looked, if anything, ill.

"The Decepticons are en route. Prime could take on Megatron, maybe, but I can'y. The Decepticon destroyed my world and he'll think less of destroying yours and murdering every last man, woman, and child of your species. I need to get to him, now!" she said.

Ron flinched, then frowned.

"....Right," he said. "Alright. This way."

"Yeah." Fred sighs and heads for the stairs that lead to the scaffolding, only to be stopped by a guy in a protective suit. "Let me past, Rob."

"Let him, soldier," Ron said. The soldier blinked, then got out of their way. Arcee moved forward, then glowered.

"Ice," she said scathingly, before looking and grapping a pic off the table, handing it out to him. "Take this and hold onto my back, Doc."

"Liquid nitrogen." He looks at the pick and then looks at her sheepishly. "Um... I'm not really an action hero type. I don't know how well I could hold on."

"Get on. I'll keep you up, she said, bending again. "Hold onto my neck."
