M got laid off today. He'll be out of work for at least a month, but with everything so slow, it may be longer. He's a union carpenter foreman, but even with a union, it will be difficult to find work right now

I know how hard that can be, dearest. The mere attempt NOT to worry can take up so much energy. And be futile. Just hang in there. I can't imagine you need extra things to occupy yourself with in order not to think about stuff. I'm sure you're already overwhelmingly busy. Just keep in mind that it will be okay in the end. No matter what. Hugs you again!

Holy crap. I hope that things work out quickly. This is pretty scary, and you should not be blamed for freaking out a bit. If you were able to work at all, could you substitute teach, even if you didn't work full time? It might just help you feel a little better to feel like you are doing something, even if it's not completely filling the gap.

Oh man that sucks. We had an annoucement last week at work to expect redundancies. The atmosphere ever since has been awful.

Its such a bad time in every single sector it seems.

I hope things pick up for him soon! Hang tough.
