hey.. just 2 things. i loved that you said what i was thinking about silently bumping into all the same people in the lj 'red light district'.. and i love that your hidden journal userpic is claude cahun! so i'm going to have to add you!
Another fan of Cahun! That's fantastic. I've added you back.
When I started this journal I got comments from one or two people who seem to have thought I was a woman, and I wondered if it was because of that picture... I picked the most gender-ambiguous Cahun image I could find, but I didn't want to mislead anybody. Hasn't happened for several months now.
I've had a hard time actually finding much of her work in print. The only book of Cahun photographs I own came from the basement of a queer bookstore in Paris that Joan and Eva and I all went to.

I bought the book at a used bookstore here in Chicago almost 4 years ago and I still love it ... one of the pieces, from "Cash Riordan," had a passage about his methodological method of lovemaking that was so memorable I seduced a woman with it ;)

Well, to give you a teaser ... he basically said he makes sure that the woman *knows* that she's going to get fucked, after which he can devote energy to other pursuits to get her hot and hotter and then after she's good and explosive away he goes ... it was kind of neat.

There ya go-- right there! But don't limit it to "woman". This seems to be the key to a lot of D/S stuff, setting up expectation. Mutuality is a wonderful thing. Just as wonderful, (or sometimes even more wonderful!) is being able to practice something like serial mutuality, letting someone else concentrate only on being pleasured rather than needing to pleasure back.
